The Rangers and Mariners had already lost.

God forbid the winner of the worst division in baseball end up over .500

Y’all still don’t believe we should’ve been sellers? I agree with Derosa (and for the record I was at the time- not just now that our lead is down to 1/2 game….)

I don’t trust that this owner and front office have the savvy to have made a fire sale work…therefore I was ok with standing pat, etc.

If there is any truth to the rumorred intervention in the Abreu for Larnach deal this franchise is going to be very bad for a long time when the wheels eventually do fall off. You make that trade 10 out of 10 times.

And just now was a prime example… I realize other teams were interested in Hays, but the Astros should’ve been all over that the day after he got DFAd.

Wanted to blame that on Yainer too, but he did get away from the sweeper after the first comfortable daddy hack from Hays. King is just so dogshit he missed uncompetitively and Yainer had to get him in the zone.

Tough two series losses in a row.

Gotta get JP going again somehow

I can’t remember the last time we hit the ball oppo without it being sliced on a late swing. Every guy up there is trying to pull everything and they just pitch us away and watch us fail.

2 hits?

2 measly hits?

Two hits is pretty offensive, ironically.

The start times for the next two games is also offensive.

Now that Pena's heater is over and Yed is in his longest HR drought in years, the inability to manufacture runs leaves this team at the mercy of too many pitchers who have to nibble.

I wouldn't interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to watch. If it means that much to you, follow the Rangers and Mariners and pull against them.

It's the only way this team makes the playoffs.

Surely we've assembled one of if not the absolute worst collective outfield ever.

And if it was for just this year, that would be one thing. But the outfield has been a mess for two years running.

They should let a fan play OF for a game just for the novelty

“And who are you again? Hoohoo, is it? More like Hooha, am I right, Jimbo? Are you with the nerds that were running the show prior to me taking over all personnel decisions? We are going back to traditional scouting and gut instincts. Looking at the back of the baseball cards, so to speak. Sure, we’ve missed on almost every outfielder we’ve attempted to trot out there and pretend they are major leaguers, but that happens sometimes. There is no right or wrong way to build a team-except for how the nerds were doing it around here before I announced my presence with authority. Look at the record this year, it’s August and this squad is leading the division. That oughta be proof enough to you olds that the ship is in good hands.”

On MLBN earlier when discussing the Astros, it was said that the 111 loss team’s starters ERA was lower than this team’s starters

If that doesn’t put wind in your sails, I don’t know what to tell you

Pena is broken.

I kinda thought his hitting streak toward the end was a little troubling. He would get a hit, but have 3 or 4 shitty AB otherwise.

He was due a 40 point correction.

Even still his market value will price him out of Houston
