That, and the fact that pitchers are learning to not serve him fastballs right down the dick.

Those belong to Ohtani now

Can you tell when MLB started slipping in the juiced balls for each of them?

Well, you don’t want to see injuries be a factor, but it’s not like the Astros haven’t had their fair share

The talent advantage has lessened to the point we need management, and Baker needs to start acting like it’s the playoffs and stop allowing his pride to magnify his lack of gamesmanship

You’re right

The split was a win for the Yankees

That’s where things are at for this once fabled franchise

I’ll take the split. This was finally a fun series.

Brown certainly didn't shoot down the idea, noting that the team is "looking into it right now, and we'll know over the next few days what our thought process is."

It's very enticing," Brown said in the interview. "In fact, we can use some left-handed bats in our lineup right now. We have [Yordan] Alvarez and [Kyle] Tucker. If there's an opportunity, we may exercise that just to see what he could do. We think that if we can get him up here, get some pinch-hits, get him in the lineup a couple times a week, that could make a difference. It could energize our offense a little bit, knowing that a little bit of help is coming."

We're certainly looking for a left-handed bat," Brown added. "We tried to get one at the trade deadline. We weren't able to do it, so having Singleton down in Triple-A playing well, and knowing he's an option, it's exciting for our club."

I'm certainly not going to get overly excited about Jon Singleton but I'm at the point of what the hell could it hurt. We've started Kessinger, Hensley and tMattress at various times. Singleton fits a need, his skillset is useful if he clicks and if not, it doesn't cost us anything. So why not. I bet he's in Houston for the Angels series Friday.

Lance Lynn went 6 innings 1 run 6K against the Padres. He's got a 2.77 ERA in 2 Dodger starts. Should have.

Another high leverage reliever would have helped much more.

We're not going with six starters in the playoffs or even probably the last month so one of those starters is going to become a reliever

And we could still use another high leverage reliever. This is a team with Montero, Stanek and Maton on it.

The bullpen in the 2nd half...

Pressly 11IP 2 walks
Maton 8IP 10 walks
Abreu 10.2IP 7 walks
Neris 9.2IP 8 walks
Montero 8.2 6 walks
Stanek 6.1 3 walks
Graveman 3.1 3 walks

59 innings 39 walks 5.9 BB/9. Take out Presslys chunk of innings since he's not the a-hole walking everybody and it's 37 walks in 48 innings. 6.9 BB/9
