Crane and his cronies need to sign off on a Verlander trade so we can have a legit chance in the playoffs. This BS about playing for the long haul should not cost us the current season.

Off days are mental just as much as physical. After Yuli sat a game in Detroit after going 0-for-something, he went on a tear. Good lord y'all need to focus your anger in appropriate directions. Off days aren't one of them

I get off days. I do. But just because you're scheduled "off" doesn't mean you can't enter the game in a situation that requires it. Marwin should have pinch hit for Davis with 1 out in the 7th and runners on 2nd and 3rd. You try to win the ballgame at that point. If you're going to use Giles for a 4 out win then you hit Marwin in that instance. The problem is hinch and luhnow think because of our 15-game lead we have the luxury of testing youngsters in pressure situations. Fact is, the right move was to play matchups, which hinch likes, and put a lefty in to face a righty.

We all agree on this and also about Hinch and Luhnow experimenting with the young guys. Still, you have to play to win, 15 game lead or not. Even at full health, this pitching staff isn't going to cut it.

This team needs practice winning close games, but instead we are goofing around with callups and 3 guys in the lineup with less than a year in the majors combined between all of them. And then we put our 6 era trade deadline bulllpen acquisition in the game to walk a .130 hitter who scored on a shot throw from our new outfield prospect. If this was 2013, I'd be excited for the change, but it's not and now it's 4 losses in the last 5 games for a team trying to win the AL.

11-15 in our last 25 home games. 1-4 on the current home stand. 3-7 in our last 10. The injuries are starting to take their toll. Tonight's game was winnable. Have to prove we can win games like this at home, even with the injuries. Had the lead and poor defense and situational hitting cost us.
