Espada tells McTaggart in postgame that a team meeting is not necessary after they’ve lost 4 out of 5 series since the trade deadline. Get this a-hole out of my club man

frick Espada. He couldn’t find his balls with the Hubble telescope.

Mariners and Angels both come in Houston and win their first road series since May and both of those series could have been sweeps.

This organization is a joke right now.

Astros SUCK at home. Anyone who has followed this team over the last ten years recognizes that fact. Wait til the next road trip begins and you'll see what I mean. And Joe Espada is OK. Team has a few players on the disabled list also.

I believe the Astros still make the postseason-- but we have to endure a couple more homestands.

For an extended training camp manager maybe.

You’re right! And I actually said this in a previous game thread.

The problems started when he got rid of Click and got away from the analytical element that led to that run of consecutive ALCS series. He started acting like Jerry Jones and then inserted Bagwell into the mix and it’s no coincidence that this team has been trending worse and worse each year.

Case in point, this year’s trade deadline. No one could have blamed them for not selling, since we were in first place in a bad division. But they did the only thing they couldn’t do which was basically stand pat. And if they thought a struggling Daulton Varsho, whose only claim to fame was that he got hot in last year’s WS was going to make a difference, simply because he was a lefty, well that shows how incompetent they are.

What they should have added was pitching, but to do so would have required farm pieces that they were obviously not willing to give up. So if that’s the case, why not sell at the deadline?!?

And the run scoring problem at home has been a problem for years. Whether it’s the routine or the stadium design you have to fix it.

These are just a few issues. There are plenty more. But the bottom line is it’s only going to get worse if he doesn’t find a new management team that can address all of these issues.

The muh sell the team thing at the first sign of trouble is so lame. I hate the new internet sports culture.

I'm pissed at the last few seasons but Crane is the best owner in team history guys.

It also presupposes that there is some giant bench of billionaires that would (a) buy the team and (b) be any different than 25 of the current billionaires owning MLB teams.

Purely spitballing here but I wonder if Crane (played college baseball so old school) felt betrayed by analytics guys cause of the trash can scandal? Maybe that's why Click had such a short leash? I also get the old school guy taking Jeff Bag well more seriously than the computer nerds

If any of that is true I hope Crane goes back to trusting the computer nerds.

Ok. Maybe the A’s cure our woes tonight.

Or maybe not. 2 runners on. 2 weak at bats. Make that 3
