The championship or sell the team mentality is for 22 year old ADHD patients. The Astros have had more success since just 2020 than the other teams in our division have had in 30 years. Even the last two years have included winning seasons and a division title. There are many franchises that aren’t even trying to compete at this point.
If Crane wanted to keep Brown or Espada around they wouldn’t have came into 2026 without extensions. If Crane hires some hacks this offseason, then maybe I would see your point.

Nice job Nick Allen, and good aggressive baserunning to get out of the double play possibility.
Brice is having a nice series so far. And a good job by Vazzy

Man I remember seeing something a few weeks ago about how profitable betting the over in every Nats game had been
Ain’t that the truth
feel like we could play them 10 times in a row and the over is gonna hit in 8-9 of them

Astros win last night if Espada makes the move to the pen like he just did
When it mattered

I had to chuckle watching him limp around in the 2nd H
He might as well, seeing as how Belgium made him look like he only had one leg from the get go

Jose be like, "shite, Abreu is warming up. Better do something here."

Abreu actually pitched pretty well in the eighth. The infield hit could have been an out had Shewmake fielded it cleanly. And Abreu hit 98 at one point, noteworthy because the velo has been way down.
Color me shocked.

Thought for sure Tuve was fricking the closer just for BA to unfrick the closer.

Never a doubt. Definitely was never nervous here.

Thankfully, Crews is not a good MLBer.

2 back in the division, 1.5 back of the last wildcard. What will the front office do at the trade deadline?

Nothing
And given that no moves were made by the owner in regards to front office or field management, why would we want them involved?
Obviously, I would have preferred some forward thinking instead of trying to scrape for a playoff spot, but regardless I don't think anyone could argue that Pena and Brown's production thus far has had little to no effect on where this team stands
