They want the best prospects. They aren't winning anything. It's a business

There's no way Luhnow would say no to that sort of package.

Because he's a big dumb idiot.

LA asked for Tony Kemp, Preston Tucker and David Martinez, and Luhnow said whoa, I need a AAA championship.

I really want ludlow apologists to go down the list of starters and relievers that have been traded and explain to me how the best that we could do is liriano

Darvish
Quintana
Gray
Madson
Doolittle
WIlson
Kahnle
Addison reed
Neshek
Kintzler

You kidding? That could have been huge for them. They could use Yu to frick us over royally because they believe he'll resign.

Think of that, we get him for a few months, they get prospects out of it, AND he comes right back...they would own us if we struck a deal.

You really think the Rangers were going to trade Darvish to Houston without trying to frick them?

Oh, sure. Here. Have our ace and you can beat our asses the rest of the year and we will take your scrubs.

Makes total sense. To believe that being in the same division and being rivals didn't have anything to do with not sending him to Houston is naive.

That's the most ridiculous shite I've read in this thread today.

Darvish is going nowhere but LA. Now he's there, he will resign in the offseason

Why are you asking me that? I don't know anything about the players TX got.

+1

Although I am pretty disappointed the Astros did not make a big addition to the pen or starting rotation, especially since they have been in buy mode for 1.5 months

Edit: Luckily for me I am still so beat down from LSU hiring Orgeron that this really doesn't fluster me as much.

So disappointing

Especially when you see what was dealt for Gray Darvish and Wilson. Hard to believe something couldn't get done.

I wish Chicken could put a lock on the thread to where you have to solve a puzzle before you could open it or post in it.

We could really use a blockade for all of the mouthbreathers.

The Rangers claim otherwise...but we will see. This has been an absolutely huge disappointment. Many months we waited for this...AND Luhnow threw up zero. He brought nothing.

Okay, sorry, didn't mean to get in the way of your incredible baseball intellect. Maybe you should apply for Astros GM.

Hey man, minor league titles matter. Keep fanboying telling yourself Luhnow is a good gm. You didn't even know who got us the faces of our current franchise a few days ago. #groundup

I would agree thiis has a lot of merit. It sucks that one of the better acquisitions resided not only in our division but on our most hated rival.

The disappointing thing is that we'll never know what we truly offered in all these discussions. We were in on just about everyone apparently. I have a hard time believing we couldn't make a more impactful move without giving up our best prospects, especially when I see these other teams able to keep their better talent. It's like every deal other teams made came with the statement "and they didn't have to give up ..." Hell, the Yankees gave up two injured prospects for gray.

You are acting like darvish and gray was the only move we missed. Yes they are the biggest ones but there were a dozen very good relievers traded for reasonable hauls and we got Francisco liriano as a loogy

Still, even Kintzler was traded for a minor leaguer with a 4.00 era. I know they wanted a LHP, but there is no reason they couldn't have added a guy like that without giving up a top 7 prospect. I'm some what in the prospect hoarding group and even I am a bit disappointed they didn't try to unload some guys for some MLB players.
