If we’re talking about bringing some recent exAstros back to the team I’d like to throw Michael Brantley’s name into the mix. Just to DH. It would be nice to have an actual professional hitter in the lineup again.

Prepare to be underwhelmed.

I can’t be. If absolutely nothing happens, I’m fine with that this year.

Really don’t feel like trading Melton for 2-3 months of Cease is a good idea but I guess I need to trust the front office cause they’ve won more trades than not

I am so torn. You hate to just waste an opportunity when you are 4.5 games ahead in a division, but I dont feel like there are any one or two players in a trade who can turn this into a World Series team given all the injuries.
I have given up hope of E-sock and Yordan returning, so the offense is going to be questionable regardless.
IF any of Spaghetti/France/Javier/ can give us quality starter innings, I think we have enough starting pitching to be ok. But none of that is guaranteed.
It is such a unique situation to be in. And I dont trust our decision makers to get it right.

Yeah I’m not a fan of dealing Melton either but where does he fit when everyone is healthy? Jake/Cam/Yed/Tuve
Wish there was a way to deal Chas and keep our youth

True, but I still fear what we’re hearing the strongest rumors about are the Crane camp preferences and not the Dana camp…which is crazy in itself that there are two camps.
Dana’s been talking about a LH bat since spring training, we supposedly have reinforcements coming at SP, and our 3B is likely out for the year. So what are we hearing? That we’re trying to get a SP and our main hitting target is a RH hitting shortstop.

Mets traded away Drew Gilbert today

I'll feel a little younger if they trade Chas.

Chas has really solidified himself as a punching bag on this roster, which is really saying a lot considering the players they are currently running out there. Any of you olds (or youngs-looking at you, Dragon), care to go on record as to what you want to happen vs. what you expect to happen?
I’d like to stand pat and hope and pray they get all of their injured players back and make a run.
I think they’ll do something that probably won’t be extremely helpful this year or moving forward.

I’d like to make a run at Kwan for the simple fact that we’d have one less retard in the lineup and control for a couple of years.
The thought of having two guys (with Paredes back next year) who could step up to the plate and not look like complete clowns appeals to me.
What I expect to happen? Something underwhelming. But I was underwhelmed last year with Kikuchi and that worked out pretty well.

Cristian Javier is through 3 innings. He has allowed 1 run off 2 hits. He's had 2 walks and 2 Ks so far.

What I want for Cease: Chas (or Melton but preferably Chas) and Walker Janek (our top Catcher prospect). If you are keeping Diaz and extending Caratini, you have to deal him while you can
What I want for Correa: Twins would have to take 75% of his salary and idgaf. It gives you a ton of flexibility with the infield. Also I don’t care if we don’t get him — he’s definitely aging and everyone here is familiar with his back issues
I want Steven Kwan but it doesn’t sound realistic. Again, where does he fit when the OF is healthy between Jake, Cam, Yordan, Altuve (lol), Melton, Dezenzo, and Chas
Reliever wise? Man I don’t know where to start. I would imagine some of these guys now would move to the bullpen once Spaghetti, Javier, and/or Garcia return. I’m a little bit less worried about the bullpen because our young guys gained a ton of experience this year from starts. Maybe in the bullpen they would be able to focus more knowing they’re only tossing an inning, maybe 2
I genuinely don’t want to see Chas McCormick in an Astros jersey ever again. Find a way to get him and Cooper Hummel off the team
