His career numbers don't mean jack since he was a starter for the Mets in 2017 when the bulk of his MLB numbers happened. He's a reliever who settled into the role well until falling apart in May. Probably a non factor but a really odd career trajectory to look at.

The Mariners must feel they need Toro more than they need Graveman. Smith for Montero is probably a change-of-scenery wash. Montero had been DFA'd.
