I’m just at a loss of words for Espada having Vasquez bunt

I’m annoyed this is a west coast game most people gave up on so probably not many people watching that indefensible decision

Glad I didn't see it. Playing for a tie on the road is unbelievably stupid.

Glad the Astros won, but the management of this team from ownership all the way down is really inept right now.

Wins like these will keep this org in a perpetual stupidity loop. They are about 5 players away from being remotely considered a WS contender. THE GM is going to try to save his job by going all in tontty to win the 3rd WC and 2 and que finish and likely trades a fee of the few decent prospects this org has.

Sigh

Dana is notorious for being full of shite so who knows what Crane really will do. I have a hard time seeing an owner that refused to spend money this offseason or extending the GM/manager going all out for this team. We have two MLB caliber starting pitchers and are currently slotting in Lamonte “gets on base” Wade Jr as our cleanup hitter.

I think it’s more likely they make minor moves at the deadline and relatively stand pat. Which is fine considering the alternative is trusting Dana Brown’s front office to sell.

In a normal season that would be fine and Brown could be let go and a new GM could come in tasked with a quick rebuild... but with the imminent lockout coming and 2027 up in the air we might end up totally missing the trade window on several worthwhile pieces.

Need to sell now anyone who isn't part of the 2028 and beyond plan.

I think with a better GM / front office that is clearly the smart move. I’d be fine selling now, just saying I don’t think it’s the end of the world if they sell later.

I hate the 3rd wild card so much

Makes bad teams think they can make the postseason and totally ruins the trade deadline which has always been one of my favorite 72 hour periods of the year

I think it’s foolish to make any longer terms plans based on a lockout. You have no idea what the outcome will be, what the new rules will be, how long it will last and how things will be handled after. There were a ton of major deals as well in the short three week period after the 2022 one ended. There will be plenty of opportunity to trade a Pena or whoever if they so choose when it ends, whenever that may be, if it happens. I would rather wait and hopefully not have Dana Brown making these decisions and trades personally

Imagine putting Ed Wades son at cleanup. Goddamit I hate nepotism.
