Looks like Mariners named a starter

Darren McCaughan

Given up no hits in 5 innings w 3 BB and no K’s

15 outs w/o a K and no hits in today’s game is interesting

His BABIP should be ready to correct itself. LOL

Based on this, sounds like exactly the type of guy to shut down this lineup.

Pretty sure this was announced on the broadcast yesterday, because Blum butchered the pronunciation, and Kalas corrected him.

I know you’ve all been waiting, so here’s my theory on Correa. In a contract year all players want to maximize their performance/stats. In doing so they focus just a little more and add just a bit more effort. For many this accomplishes their purpose, and they have a standout year. I think that in Correa’s case he did these things and didn’t necessarily get the results that he expected, so he’s started to press. The longer it goes on, the more he presses. He needs a breakout soon.

He was very much having a standout year until July started. He has been pressing big time though the last few weeks. It’s crazy how good his surface stats still are knowing how awful he’s been in July. Shows how good he was the first 3 months of the year

Myles Straw is averaging .167 (5-for-30) over his last 13 games.

I think your theory was spot on for Altuve last year due to the pressure to prove himself for the idiots that thought his success was due to sign stealing

Correa’s struggles are all based on which approach he takes at the plate. When he focuses on his natural approach to RC, everything falls into place

He can afford to wait on offspeed when he times impact for back corner. When he forces pull, he can’t identify offspeed

He can hit middle middle FBs more consistently to RC and produce better over the haul, than trying to force production to pull side, leaving him susceptible to location and pitch type

He can solve all his problems in NY w their girls softball field on the right side. LOL

He can hit Jeter long balls

Correa still leads the team in total WAR, ahead of Altuve and Prominent's BFF, Tucker.

That does account for defense though, which is an area where Correa hasn't slumped at all.

We are likely to miss Correa's defense far more than his offense unless Pena ends up the starter.

Buxton huh?

Too bad he can't stay healthy.

Considering the injuries and that he has an extra year of control I think he'll be too expensive.

Counterpoint: Hard to overprice a guy in trades who you lowballed in contract negotiations.

Altuve .212 (11-52)
Correa .065 (3-46)
Yed .167 (8-48)
Maldy .171 (6-35)
Toro .167 (7-42)

Yuli .295, Ted .333 and Brantley by default at .256 makes the list as a "hot hitter"

We've got a lineup stacked full of Maldy...in fact Maldy is outhitting them!

mannn you replied to it. Now he'll come back since he's been engaged. We're going to have to add some language to the DAT bylaws at our next shareholders meeting to address this.

Yea I checked his baseball reference and immediately got it in my head that if we don't get him I'm going to be bummed especially with how stinky Straw has been
