My working theory is that pinched nerve made him lose a little of the extremely finite dexterity for the movement required to pitch at a high level at his velocity or lack thereof.


He was 9-0 with a 1.67 ERA and an 0.872 whip in the first half of that season well on his way to a second cy young in 3 years

Lowest full season ERa was 3.74 the following year.

Man... I would hate for him to join the Astros and start playing well. I'd have to stop hating him and his spaghetti sauce Tupperware face.
