Sipp sucking should open Ludlows eyes that we need Britton badly

What's the price tag going to be on Britton? Is he a rental?

One of our best relievers-peacock-is sitting in the rotation. A trade for one starter and one reliever nets 2 shutdown relief guys

I think he'll be okay honestly. It was an impingement in the elbow that has been cleared. He has been his usual self in the minor league stints.

Honestly, I see Miraculous New Fiers and a healthy McHugh ahead of Morton in the pecking order.
I think if Keuchel feels normal tomorrow, that's the Bat Signal for Ludlow to zero-in on trades for multiple legit relievers.

Hoodoo. I agree. Like I said, the pitching stunk and gets most of the blame. But the offense had its chances to put the game away and or win it late. Altuve had bases loaded twice and couldnt get the big hit. We had bases loaded in the 8th no outs and got one run on a sac fly. Then the 9th, 2nd and 3rd 1 out and can't score.
I know hindsight is 20/20 but I wonder how things would have turned out had aoki been allowed to swing at the first two pitches in his at bat. Hinch had altuve relay a steal sign to gurriel but the question is was he supposed to steal on pitch 1 or pitch 2? Aoki let a nice pitch go on the 0-1 count that he could have driven to the outfield. Instead of swinging at a pitch he liked he had to protect with 2 strikes and hit the weak grounder to short.
It's a damned if you do damned if you don't.

Got another year on his deal. He should be our top target IMO.

The question is, what Britton are you getting? We'd no doubt pay the price for last year's dominant Britton. Coming off injury, he's not been that guy this year.
14 innings 18 hits 3 runs 6 walks 9 strikeouts.
I can cut him a break. Coming of injury, there's some rust in only 14 innings. Fine. But is he poised to return to his previous dominance? I'll claim ignorance. I haven't watched him pitch and haven't looked up things like velocity on his pitches.

These are important questions to be asked. I'm sure the scouts are on top of things. Damn, I want him to be healthy and wearing our orange.

hes been fine since he came back. 6 hits and 2 earned runs in 6 innings and basically all of that came in one outing
hes lost about one mph on his sinker which could be alarming but he was pretty much where he usually is with it before his injury stints. could very well be him just getting back into it
its hard to really get an idea because hes pitched in so few innings. his swinging strike% is way down and his contact% is way up which isnt awesome. his groundball rate is way down which is literally what he built his dominance on, but its still a good 66%
so there absolutely is cause for some pause when talking about britton right now because his numbers are kinda scary but they still look decent overall

Was glancing over the rest of our schedule...was shocked to see how favorable it is for the rest of the year
Remaining series vs teams above .500:
4 Vs Tampa
2 @ Arizona/2 vs Arizona
3 vs Washington
4 @ Boston to finish the season
Other than that, we have 17 series against teams currently* .500 or worse
*After tonight's win, Seattle is at .500 and Arlington/LAA aren't too far back from being .500
But still...

How about that Carlos Beltran two-run homer, Mr Negativity?
Tied the game at 5. Pretty f*cking clutch if you ask me.
