Last night was fun, right guys?

Never realized winning can be so much fun. Let's go Astros, and frick the Red Sox.

And also it's June 9, 2021? frick off, Dusty Baker.

It’s not only June 2021 but he and everyone else on the team is vaccinated. And then he does press conferences inside with no mask.

This one doesn't feel winnable.

Only 1 run over the last 7 innings has to be cause for concern, right?

Would be so tight if Odo could put a good one together tonight.

I still believe he is a very good pitcher. He signed late, then got injured so hopefully as he's getting his body to 100% he reaches his 2019 form.

We do this quite a bit. Break out early then coast. When we get 7 solid innings from our starter, it’s not too big a deal. 6 or less with our shaky pen and it’s a different story.

Weird thing about last night is that we got to a pitcher that had been owning us. Guys on the radio were talking about how the Sox pen was taxed and how bad it was that they had to go to them so early. Then they proceed to shut us down.

He should be serviceable as a starting pitcher on this team. He should at least be in the same ballpark as Urquidy and McCullers. In theory, at least.

And you know the front office is going to keep running him out there even after Lance is back in order to keep Garcia's innings down.

Kurkjian has an article on baserunning and how bad it is on ESPN site.

Quotes Baker, but could have been any Astros manager for a while now

What I found interesting was that Baez was singled out as being a very good baserunner

Hope he sees 5 for 125 on a contender as a good deal

If Baez had any plate disciple at all, he'd be a mega superstar. He's so good

His line is a mess this year

.240/.276/.480 5 doubles 1 triple 14HR 39 RBI 7 walks 80 strikeouts.

Between this year and last he's registered 155 strikeouts to 14 walks.

Yeah he's a major risk on a big money deal because his bat could easily fall off a cliff. Plus for us, he's a bad fit as a companion piece to what Pedro Leon could be (a very similar player).

Some New York baseball writer wrote new book on sign stealing

Lots of people will ignore this part

quote:

That this latest broadside comes from a reporter who’s well-connected in Major League Baseball and well respected among the MLB press corps makes it difficult to attack. Martino reports that at least three Astros—José Altuve, Josh Reddick, and Brian McCann—didn’t take part in the sign-stealing. On the flip side, utility player Marwin González appears to have been the biggest beneficiary of the trash-can banging.
