Surely, but it also fits into the current concept of what a deep, reliable bullpen does for a team. I love how we are taking a "weaker" overall draft and making the most of it.

Breaking up the consecutive high strikeout guys better tonight, save for the bottom two (and we have to play Valbuena vs a lefty because our utility slapdick duo sucks).

229: Garrett Stubbs, C from USC

Have to put the best IF defense out there for Kid K. I wish Correa had better protection than conger. Would like to see him in the two hole.

Stubbs did his part to help USC break a long postseason drought, both at the plate and behind it.
He was named the Pac-12's Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday. His caught-stealing percentage of 53.8 (28 of 52) is the best among the 20 Johnny Bench Award semifinalists. In 1,108 chances during four years, he had only five errors for a .995 fielding percentage.
Stubbs was among Pac-12 leaders with a .330 average, 47 runs scored and 19 stolen bases.
"If there's a better catcher in the country, I haven't seen him," USC coach Dan Hubbs said.

I like what we've done with these last few picks adding catching and bullpen depth

The organization has a great pipeline.

I'd actually like to see Correa and Carter swapped. Put Correa in the 5 hole. Correa seems to be able to make contact at least... put him and Tucker together gives Carter a chance to hit one of his solo home runs with someone actually on base.

I want Ted's older brother to be our first baseman in 2016. I would love to see Tony Kemp is left field if we did that.

I'm really hoping Marisnick is not our starting CF next year.

He just turned 24. I'm willing to give him into next season to see if he can become just a bit more patient at the plate.

Probably better that Thatcher right now

Person is a living, breathing human, so yeah.

Is there something wrong with Castro? No way shitty Conger needs to be plaYing this much. He doesn't even give much of an advantage vs lefties seeing as he's a switch hitter and batting from the right is his weaker side.
Posted on 6/9/15 at 5:07 pm to Lsuhoohoo
Yeah I expect Castro to be the starting catcher at least through next year. I think he's a FA after that
Posted on 6/9/15 at 5:11 pm to Jwho77
Hopefully they try him at first next spring training

Remember the contusion around Castro's knee? I assume he is still bothered some by it. Good time to give Conger more ABs from the right side versus all these lefty starters we've seen lately.
That's said, Tyler Heinemann may have no power but he has hit enough this year to post an OBP of .380 and a .800 OPS. He has thrown out 43% of attempted base stealers in the minors. Would love to see him move up.
