If Castro has to go to the DL I'm sure they will. I also would like to see what he can do at the ML level

I mean I'm fine with Conger as a backup catcher, he's fine defensively and you can't really expect shite offensively from a backup catcher. I don't get why the frick we traded Tropeano and Perez for him.

Ryno in April = man this Marisnick kid is a hell of a ballplayer

Ryno in June = I really hope Marisnick is not our CF next year.

Ryno in August when Marisnick starts raking = I knew he could do It this whole time!

MLB Tonight about to discuss Mets pitching. What would an Astros trade look like for one of those guys (not Harvey or Colon obviously)?

Like Gee or Niese? Or one of the younger guys?

Yeah, say Gee...the other two would probably wouldn't be realistic.

I didn't say man he is an awesome ballplayer...I said he was looking way better than I thought he would be and I hope he kept it up. I wasn't expecting him to but was hoping. He's playing now like he did last year

I honestly don't know because I think the Mets want MLB level offensive guys, because they have a bunch of pitching and are horrendous offensively, especially in the infield, but are still in the race for a playoff spot

I saw that the dodgers considered Uribe for Gee so they might actually have interest in Valbuena, though he would be a terrible fit in that ballpark.

If they were wanting minor leaguers they would probably want older guys who they think might be able to come up soon, like Moran Kemp or Santana. No idea what combo though

Gee is a pretty decent trade target though because they moved him to the bullpen recently and was pretty vocal about how unhappy he was with the move

I think Obie can pitch as well as Niese or Gee. I don't care for either one of them.

You have more confidence in Obie's ability than me I guess, and it just seems like he's never healthy.

I went back and read that Crawfish Boxes post where they named possible pitching targets earlier today though and out of the guys they named I probably liked Fiers the most.

I really don't like those two guys honestly. Hell, just bring up a Devenski for a look before trading for replacement-level pitchers.

Yeah if they were to trade for someone like Gee I think it would be to carry them through the regular season because Feldman's rehab has dragged on, or one of the younger guys is going to be shut down due to workload. Not as a guy they would be throwing out in game 3 of a postseason series, at least I hope not. That was why I made the post earlier about waiting until closer to the deadline to weigh their options

Definitely agree on waiting. Obie has his chance now.

When you're on a skid, balls like that one find a glove.
