Yordan has an advanced approach and presents a tremendous threat that Brantley doesn't pose to hit it out to any field at any park at any time.
This. Last year especially and even early this year there was a multitude of guys who do damage but no one that a pitcher just had to absolutely fear to instantly put a crooked number up with men on base. There’s a limited amount of hitters in the league who present that threat and even fewer who combine that with the ability to hit for average.
Put him 4th and protect him with Brantley and Correa and we parading in October

All good points from everyone.
Just saying don’t crown him early like someone else we know. Bad things can happen, even after the crown.

Howdy gents.
We gonna win tonight? Finally coming back home from Cincy (frick that place) and New York, and we get the struggling Pirates and
able Mariners. Hope these next 2 series get us on the right track again.

Yeah there’s no way he keeps up the homer pace he’s on. I just see him as the one legitimate power bat in our lineup that can force the pitcher to attack the top 3 differently. I love what Brantley brings to this team but he’s really a doubles guy who when a starter sees him he doesn’t have to fear an instant big inning with one mistake. Jmo

There will be ups and downs for Yed as teams get more film on him I agree with you. I’m a huge believer in him as another cornerstone type long term because of his approach, as I think all of us are

Theres still a half season to go. Early on, Alvarez has showed a fairly patient approach at the plate and a willingness to take walks. Of course the league will find weaknesses and we'll see how he adjusts. If he continues to show the overall patient approach at the plate, I'd be comfortable with him in the upper 4th of the lineup during the playoffs.
It didn't take Hinch but what...7 games to have him hitting in the 3 hole. Now that lineup lacked the depth of a full health lineup but that move is pretty antithetical to AJ's style of playing things by the book and easing rookies into the fold. He certainly didn't do that with Kyle Tucker last year.
Final thought, in addition to his patience at the plate, I've been struck by his calmness at the plate. That go ahead home run Saturday was really the first sign of emotion we've seen from him. He doesn't seem to want to do too much or try to be the 21 year old star of the show. That maturity also gives me some comfort in hitting him higher in the order in a playoff situation. Maybe he doesn't try to play hero and concedes a walk to bring up Brantley or Correa behind him.

I think you leave Yed in the four hole until he gives you a reason to move him.

Why Correa in the 6 hole?
Someone has to be, and Yordan needs bigger bats behind him as well, plus I like the idea of Brantley, Yordan, and Reddick being spaced out.
A healthy Astros team has 7 or 8 guys that hit in the middle of the lineup for most teams. Someone has to be 7th and 8th.

Seriously?!? I saw at least two maybe three Ryno posts that were decent and not bashing us on the last page.

Considering we won the last game we played, we're a little more calm and level-headed, so that's not surprising.

We’ll be losing no before George gets to bat.
Except they helped us out.

All that lineup talk earlier. I’ll tell you who needs to move down. Mr. .259 avg and falling. Until bregman remembers how to hit non homerun balls he needs to slide to 6th behind correa. Who should be behind Alvarez.

Love Bregman’s Power numbers and he walks a lot...but he should be a .300 hitter. He just looked at a first pitch 93 mph fastball down the middle from the #5 pitcher for most 1st pitch strikes...who also throws 70% fastballs. Bregs shoulda been all over that.
