The Astros just proved the two-city experiment (Houston/Cincinnati) doesn't work but the Rays are gonna try it anyway.

That whole situation feels weird. You going to really make players find and pay for living in 2 different cities in a season?

ETA: I know typically when a team trades for a player they put that player up for the remainder of the season. That's why I find it weird you would ask them to pay for multiple living accommodations in a season.

It's insane if anyone thinks it'll work beyond just guaranteeing Montreal gets them completely.

Theres no reason, at this point, to slot Altuve right back into the 3 hole.

Nope, let him lead off, Bregman 2, Brantley 3.

I was checking out Chad Greens recent pitching stats. He's been pretty lights out in his last 9 appearances.

9 G, 4 GS, 11.1 IP, 11H, 2ER, 1BB, 19SO, 0HR 1.59ERA

I agree with this. I'd rather him get eased back into action as leadoff over 3 hole hitter currently.

It's weird because wasn't he mainly 2 hole behind Springer and leading off when Springer had day off? I thought Bregs was 3 hole hitter when everyone was healthy.

ETA: Looks like he hit 2 in every game but 1 prior to injury.

He can hit into more double plays in the 3 hole. That is what hinch wants. Trust the process.

I remember Hinch saying something earlier this year that he wanted to do anything he could to keep Bregman in the 2 hole. I guess he meant anything he could except letting Altuve lead off

Meanwhile, remember when "new Jake" was a thing?

Dating back to April 13, over 50 games and 36 starts Jake is hitting .206/.270/.405 (26/126) with 43 strikeouts and 6 walks.

Its time to give up any hope that "New Jake" exists. This is who he is. A terrible hitter who strikes out a ton and is only kept around for his elite defense.

It actually works out better now for Bregman hitting in 2 hole with Altuve leadoff.

2017 the order down stretch and playoffs was what Springer, Bregs, Altuve, Correa wasn't it?

How about a grenade to toss into the DAT... some numbers on fan favorite Tyler White.

He had a dreadful month of May where he hit .185 with an OBP less than .250

In April and June though, his combined numbers are: .276 (24/87) .412 OBP 7 doubles 1HR 3RBI 21 walks 31 strikeouts

Those numbers are, to be generous, minimally competent. He can't hit for any power. He does however, see a lot of pitches and will take a walk. With that in mind, what if Tyler White hit 1 or 2? at least until we were at full health.

Yes

And Gurriel in the 5 hole

I expect Brantley and Yed will shake that up this year

Think of him as a fat Nori Aoki. Sumo Aoki doesn't drive in runs.
