Chance to go get a series after the Tigers defense gifted the Astros a few breaks in the 8th last night.

It's a day game after a night game prior to an off day, so I'm sure the brain trust is going to put out a putrid lineup.

And most importantly, I guess, opportunity to have a winning 9 game stretch against the other worst teams in the league.

I’m just looking forward to laughing at the offensive ineptitude of our outfield not named Yordan. At this point we have to be historically bad right? Like stuff that gets a GM fired.

Espada is almost certain to not have a winning stretch vs the worst teams in the league

Look at this crop full of fricks I've grown to give about the 2026 Astros.

I could not find it in myself to not respond to this

I only watched Yed bat and Brown pitch some last night. Don't see the point in watching Brown moving forward. He has zero chance of being a part of this organization.

How can anybody that is a true lifelong fan watch this team? I mean, how do you pull for winning baseball when it is counter-productive to your ultimate goal.

I find it impossible to even want to see pieces that could be used to make the team better in the future succeed, when you damn well know it won't be with the Astros and they will be playing against you.

I'm just not mature enough. Maybe when I get older.

The “I have to either root for tanking or an immediate championship” thing is so lame. I remember taking Brees last season for granted as a Saints fan. What I would have given from 2021-25 (pre-Shough) to have had a competent QB throwing accurate balls and winning games.

The GM and manager are lame ducks. Change is coming. Whether the change is good or not, we’ll see.

Lame or not, it must come from finally experiencing success, because all my years of fandom from childhood never as affected.

The tanking is the only thing that fixed those years of frustration.

That level of tanking is not going to happen again. But all the good moves made by letting overpaid talent walk have not given desired results, mostly due to mediocrity leading to draft position and poor talent evaluation.

The last thing this team needed was a band-aid after making a necessary move with Tucker. Sure, maybe that's hindsight, but nobody in their right mind should need to see more.

The Astros won the division in 2024 and had a winning season in 2025. We’re heading to a lockout this offseason in part because a number of teams don’t even pretend they’re interested in winning. There is far, far worse than what the franchise has been post-2023.

As long as they don’t do anything stupid over the deadline and clean house in the front office we are on track for a new era.

Hopefully, Brown doesn't make taking Justin Lebron in the first round his last big move. Lebron is so Dana Brown it fricking hurts (5-star everything except actually hitting the baseball).

The org needs more baseball players and less raw athletes.

*with an ungodly amount of injury time lost to star players as well as regulars that could just help.

Injuries aren’t an excuse for this team because it’s just a bad roster. The frustrating thing to me, and all hindsight and probability of these guys hitting here isn’t fair to assume, is that there were guys like Mickey Moniak and JJ Bleday on waivers. Yea they’d sucked in their careers until recently, but shite you needed LH outfield help for cheap. Would have been nice to take that shot some first rounders that hadn’t lived up to potential instead of hoping you found outlier stuff in Zach Cole and Joey Loperfido

LeBron seems to have the qualities DB likes in a player.

I go back and forth on all of this. While I commented “it’s time” re a fire sale and complete overhaul only a couple of days ago, here’s my issue. Even though this is a bad baseball team and the chances of them even making the playoffs, let alone winning a title are next to nothing, I just have no faith in the current regime rebuilding this thing. I’ve made no secret on here that I don’t trust Crane. He downgraded with Espada (this is not a compliment to FODB I assure you…just a measure of how bad Espada is) and with Dana. And made matters worse with the Bagwell influence. Hires a hitting coach with a lot of the same philosophies as the previous shitshow. Completely destroys a decent bench this past offseason. Joe and Dana will get canned after the season but I expect the same ole or worse as replacements.

I think he’s irreparably broken. I just don’t see things changing for the better, so I roll with the ashes of the golden age and hope we get lucky.

Great outing from Lambert. The 1-3 of our rotation is pretty solid.

He’s been really good. I don’t even fault him for that HR. Stupid Crawford boxes.

Incidentally, we have to have the slowest lineup in the history of ever.
