I'd take the financial risk, which you can use the injuries to tamp down.
Good. You be the other team and take the financial risk. I'll take some of your prospects in return.
Correa's not worth it if he's a 120-game-a-year player. Makes it hard to build your team when one of your core players misses at least a month or more every year. This is three years in a row.

Astros are not signing Correa long term at market value
What's market value? He has two arb years left. If he gets healthy and plays two full or nearly full years and produces then the price might be too high, however, there will be some salary falling away in two years - Verlander, maybe time to let a 31 year old Springer walk.

It's a 162 game season.

So he gets 75% of "market value" for what a player of his caliber dictates.

I don’t get the Correa injury hate, sure he goes in the DL once a year, but I’m pretty sure Springer has a good stint on the list every year. Altuve has the past couple of years as well, so it’s not like it’s just him.

Correa has injured himself away from the field two years in a row. People are annoyed by it. You can tell even Luhnow and Hinch are annoyed by it. Even before all of this, it was pretty well discussed that Correa is not expected to give a hometown discount. If that is the case, he is gone when team control ends at the latest.

I have zero desire to trade him like the poster above because I want to win championships now and not be shipping off players that can help that for prospects. But the injuries definitely make the contract renegotiation process interesting. I’ve thought before it would be hard for them to keep all four of the core. They have two locked up and Correa is going to be hitting FA at a much much younger age than Springer, which could make their prices vastly different.

Congratulations on your lack of reading comprehension. Correa plays 120-130 games a year. Your core players need to play at least 145, preferably 150 or more. Durability is as important as skill.

Depends on how much. I think Correa feels really at home in Houston and its going to be a really good situation for at least the next 3 years from a baseball standpoint, minimum.
It's going to be interesting. I for one always thought hed be the guy we'd let walk because someone else offers him a disgusting contract.
As of now, what teams are going to offer him? The Mets?

Impossible to predict what rosters/financials will look like for teams 2.5 years from now. Infielders can also be shifted around too if a team wants to make a win now move. If Correa stays relatively healthy and keeps performing there will be plenty of teams after him

I'd guess teams who could be in the mix are the Mets, Yankees (doesn't matter what their roster looks like right now), Phillies (I know they paid Harper but they spend big), Rangers (don't laugh), Giants (if rebuilding goes well) and Marlins (same as Giants).
I'm just not buying the Astros will do one of those 10+ year deals with Correa or anybody, and that's what Correa will likely want at a monster AAV.

Who knows with the White Sox as well with how hard they went after Machado and where they may be at that point. Also wouldn’t count out the Cardinals.

The angels are doing the Lords work but need to hold on this time. They’ve blown several leads today

Any update on Altuve btw? He’s not playing in round rock again today

Back home to do strengthening on his surgically repaired right leg. You may see him play again by mid to late June.

Miley isn’t the guy to do it but if I had some heat I’d bean riizzo until he backed off

Pedro Martinez talks about Rizzo all the time on MLB. Said he would throw 98 in his back every time until he got him off the plate. No one does it, so Rizzo takes away the inside of the dish
