This is the part of the show where I remind myself the Astros won the World Series and that I would deal with Dusty Baker back in 2023.

Gonna need a lot of reminders on nights like tonight when hitless wonders Dubon and Maldonado start because of their supposed defensive skills and then frick up doing that.

Dubon has started 4/6 games now. And Dusty has already designated him Frambers 2nd base guy like he was JVs personal CF so there's gonna be no getting him off that bullshite.

If Hensley was black and dubon was white….would we be seeing what we are seeing now with the lineups?

We're down 4 runs with 1 out in the 9th inning and 2 men on and he let's Maldy hit. Maldy promptly tries his best to hit into a game ending double play.

I swore I was going to let up on Dusty in exchange for the World Series but it's that kind of shite right there that grates me to no end. He did it last night in the 8th too. Down 1 run with a runner on in the 8th he let's shitty Maldy swing away.

They don’t really have a plan for DH either if the assumption is Yed is the permanent LF. A broken down Brantley whose power was already declining, an unproven Hensley, Diaz Julks or some combination of the above. I’m a huge Brantley fan, but we don’t truly know what we’re getting back.

They didn’t have a plan for losing the Cy Young winner either. Didn’t even sign a marginal starter. Sure, Brown becomes a starter but of course McCullers breaks down and the depth (absolutely the strength of the 2022 team) is gone.

I’ve just been very skeptical of Crane ever since Luhnow’s departure. We’ve been absurdly successful since then but primarily due to things he did. Supposedly Crane’s issue with Click was he didn’t do enough splash deals, then we did next to nothing in the off-season, other than Abreu. Maybe we’ll make some major deadline deals. We shall see. Things I’ve heard Crane say recently are less than encouraging.

Certainly not pushing the panic button yet but our margin for error is slimmer than before and while Altuve is out, we can’t afford to lose series against teams like the Tigers.

And then of course, all of the above is compounded by the idiot in the dugout

Not reason to waste time on these games. I've watched 2 total innings so far. Going as expected. Abysmal offseason. The abreu signing is vastly overrated.
