It kind of blows my mind how a guy can overhaul his swing mechanics in an off season and (idealy) make the changes stick. There's years of muscle memory to a swing. You've got so little time to react on swing, i feel like instinct takes over and you just do what you've been doing for years. Either that or you're in your head trying to remember to do it.

Come to think of it Scottie does seem to "scissor" some, but after contact. Not sure if there are any other examples even remotely close though
Yea I think it was the Masters in maybe 2022 where it looked like he was slipping on the drive and I was really confused and then they did a breakdown and called in the scissor so just kinda used that for Yordan because it's similar. It's pretty fascinating and just doing it dry it blows my mind the ability for big league guys to shift their weight like that and hit major league pitching.

JP was also at Marucci's Baseball Performance Lab in BR getting data about ideal bat balances for his swing right before spring.

“I’m not worried about the window,” Crane tells PaperCity in a one-on-one interview. “I made a statement the other day that as long as I’m here the window’s open. So I’ve got to live up to that.”
Nice lip service and an owner can't openly detail the plan to tank in the future, but if this were true then we wouldn't trade 2/3 top prospects to offload salary that we're acquiring at the trade deadline.

I’ve read this five or 6 times. It makes my head hurt trying to figure out what it means.

He should've just taken all of Verlander's salary in the deal and not traded away Clifford and Gilbert so the Mets would eat a portion of the Verlander's salary

The. Verlander would have been traded to Toronto or LA.
The Mets wanted prospects.

Any of you baws/Lady have any optimism for Whitley this year?
Posted on 2/19/24 at 9:40 pm to A Menace to Sobriety
Nope.
I'm certain he'll either find a way to be ineffective and/or injured.

What’s going on with Astros single game tickets on the MLB site? Can’t click to buy tickets, can for other teams home games.
They go on sale March 1.

Who?
If we even get a relief inning from him, it's more than I expect.

July 17, 1994, tell me, where were you?
I missed it but I would like to hear from those who got to experience it.
STL 12
HOU 15
STL was winning 11-0 at one point.

Enjoying my first summer break after wrecking shop in kindergarten. I'm probably not a useful witness for your purposes.

I was roughly 30 days into my professional career.
I don’t recall this specific game, but I do remember Bagwell’s incredible run and eventual broken hand
The strike turned me away from baseball for a period of time. It was a gradual return over a period of several years before I became a game to game follower again
