I just don't see them doing much to overhaul the batters eye. The team spent $18 million to construct the current center field complex. I hardly see Crane taking any excessive expense to change it because one years team had a down year at home. Chalk it up to a baseball oddity and assume it corrects itself next year.

Someone did find this
But that project number in the permits is related to an 18,000 sqft commissary kitchen remodeling project

Totally normal for 55% of blown calls to go against 1 team over 7 games.
You would expect the calls to be slightly influenced by the home crowd, esp in a playoff atmosphere. So the 55% is not surprising, but the fact that it was in favor of the team that had one less home game is very surprising.
And in fact, the home game influence was remarkably evident in 2 Astros postseason games this year. One in Minnesota, the other in Arlington. Every missed call in these games went in favor of the home team, yet the Astros still won these games, going away.
By chance, my old MiLB friend still consults with MLB. His specialty now? Umpire relations. LOL
I’m told we won’t have to be patient much longer. He’s not particularly an Astros fan, but did work with Purpura a number of years. There is a general awareness that the league has not done the Astros any favors when it comes to subjective matters.

A lot of folks want to sign Yuli Jr this off season. He's had a nice postseason

I've seen predictions range from 70-100 million.
PS, I miss Brent Strom. He's a magic man.

Underrated. But he likely took a lot from Astros analytics with him there
So every favorite in every series outside of Houston vs Twins has lost
And if the Astros hadn’t swept the possible NL pennant winners in that last series, we would have been underdogs and possibly still alive

My brother (Rangers fan) asked me if I wanted to go to the World Series with him when the games are in Arlington. I just do t see it happening.

I had an opportunity to go as a guest of Chris Martin to Game 6 in ‘21 WS with a friend who was his teammate in college
I had just returned from 2 weeks in Europe and just couldn’t put myself in that position to celebrate a Braves win
The pics and overall experience my friend ended up having hanging out and celebrating with the team and other celebrities made me regret that decision
I think I shared those pics with Jwho. But honestly not sure my fandom could have allowed me to enjoy that experience with the losses in ‘19 then ‘21
Only after winning last year, do I now look back with regret. LOL

Word inside the inner circle says Crane, Bagwell and Reggie are not going to overreact to this LCS outcome. They believe in these guys. The park was sold out. Jerseys flying off the shelves, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I believe this to be true. Since I am convinced that Yuli is his dad.

From Mctaggart
Well hell. Say hello to Brad Ausmus
quote:
Baker, who led the Astros to two World Series appearances in four seasons, winning his only championship in 2022, is likely headed to retirement. The Astros will look to get younger in the managerial role in what will be an attractive job. Dana Brown, who was hired as GM just before Spring Training, will have a say in who’s in the manager’s chair, but owner Jim Crane and Jeff Bagwell, the team’s senior advisor to ownership and baseball operations, will oversee finding the next Astros skipper.

It's in their heads that they were going to have a hard time hitting and if you have doubt in your mind, you're not going to.
This is the only real answer. Other teams don't have trouble at MMP. Now they've been asked about it so much that it's a thing.

It’s easy to see GM Bagwell giving Neris a very large, very stupid extension to return

The end of an era.

It’s a shame this will be Bagwell’s legacy. But it will be.

It's funny that Astros Twitters universal reaction to this is "well shite were hiring Ausmus"
