He’s probably worth that, but there must be something we saw that doesn’t project well moving fwd

I think it's a solid pickup for the Cubs - I notice his ERA was 1.71 last year but his FIP was in the 3's and Fangraphs projections for 24 have him in the upper 3's so he must have had some good BABIP fortune last year.

But he's a solid veteran reliever and I think he'll help the Cubs. Their pitch lab has done mostly a good job with relievers of his ilk in recent years.

Bagwell looked at the metrics and sensed regression.

That’s a very fair deal for Neris. I would have been scared of multiple years from 10/11 a year which seemed like what he might get but that’s a good deal for the Cubs

Great deal for both parties. Neris is the man, insanely easy to root for and just goes out and does his job. Has a tendency to create his own messes but is always composed and seems to wiggle out of it a ton.

Going to Chicago for the Astros series in April, hoping to catch all three games and incredibly pumped

You should be, Wrigley is always a great experience.

Happy to give recommendations if you've never been

Staying on the river, happy for any recommendations been browsing the travel board and written down a few restaurants just in the city in general, but any recs regarding Wrigleyville must does would be much appreciated.

If you have time take the Architecture Tour on the River, but as for the game, take the Red line to the game, drops you off right at Wrigley.

Pre-game I always like Murphy's Bleachers, but lots of fun venues in and around I like the Old Crowe as well and Vines on Clark.

I like Sluggers post-game - there are batting cages upstairs if you are so inclined, and sometimes I am.

One game in the bleachers is a must, but it's a younger crowd and all that entails so if you are wary of that it may not be your thing.

There's a great Thai place walking distance from Wrigley called the Cozy Noodle I would recommend if you like Thai.

So many options just walk around pre and post game and enjoy.

And even for a Louisiana boy like me, Chicago is a great food town, moreso downtown than in Wrigley but there's something for everyone as far as that goes find the cuisine type you like and there's a great place for it.

No problem 91 been to over 100 games there and glad to help anyone share what a great experience it is.

Wrigley does pre-game tours too, I would recommend that as well.

Oh and one more thing, everyone will tell you that you have to try the deep dish pizza. I gotta admit I'm not a big deep dish pizza fan. But my wife is and her favorite is Lou Malnati's, and there are multiple locations in Chicago.
