About to be 39.

Career MLB WAR of -1.2.

Last played in 2011.

Seems like a Sugar Land Skeeter to me.

We should... but... I bet he stays in Tampa.

He would be the perfect addition to the rotation. I just don’t see it happening. I bet he stays in Tampa also

Doesn't that kind of prove that the "cheating" scandal was never that big of a deal?

Luhnow might even get hired as well.

Irks me more than anything. Someone not named New York or Boston had to fall on the sword and Houston was it. Luhnow should never have been let go.

Hinch to Detroit. I'm happy for him, but let me guess, people will forgive and forget since he's a Tiger now, but will still boo the frick out of us acting like we committed a felony. The hypocrisy continues.

So will the fans in Detroit boo us mercilessly next season? While Hinch is in the home team's dugout?

Looking at the comments on FB when MLB's page announced this, I don't know. A LOT of people saying he should never work in baseball again.

Of course others saying he paid his punishment.

Yep. We'll have Click, Dusty, and a roster with probably 20/25 players not on the 2017 team and get treated as villains while former Astros and Red Sox (um... Mookie) get treated as if nothing ever happened.

I'm interested to see if George actually gets more negative reaction than we think. He'll be the first guy of his stature to change teams. Nobody really cares enough to boo Jake or Marwin, but they'll remember who the WS MVP was. I hope it doesn't happen, he doesn't deserve that.

Also, I'm gonna be lowkey butthurt when JV goes to Detroit to pitch one or two last seasons with Hinch

Steve Cohen got approved today and his first move as owner was to reinstate furloughed employees and eliminate the salary cuts others took. Something like a $7 million expense. Thinks he's trying to money bag his way into some good will right out of the gate so it's not gonna surprise me if he throws the bank at Springer. What better way to excite the fans than your first team move being a prized free agent.

I was thinking the same thing, could definitely see Verlander finishing his career in Detroit

I could see it, IF they are a contender, which is a big question mark and only a year to turn things around.
