Fun playoff run, my expectations at the start of it were low so I am not too disappointed to be honest. Also a productive year for the future of the club I think.

Pending FAs:
Reddick
Peacock
And of course our beloved George and Uncle Mike

I am guessing Osuna gets nontendered as well.

Clear Needs:
Bullpen
OF (maybe plural)
Perhaps a veteran starter

I will likely add to this with some potential targets

I don’t know if it’s feasible, but the club needs to make an honest effort, not a token offer.

Psychiatric help for Altuve’s throwing woes and Bregman’s sullenness.

Prayers that Yuli will ever square up a ball again. (Accidental single in the 9th aside)

Fun postseason run, battling all the way back and coming up just short still stings and will for a while especially with potentially losing George and Uncle Mike.

Amazed that the pitching staff was still able to keep this team in basically every game this postseason. Kudos to the young guys who stepped up, that was awesome and reassures that we have some young bullpen and rotation pieces for the future.

Interested to see how much money Crane will give Click to work with, he’s always talked a big game about wanting to remain a contender. The core lineup is still talented enough to have another run at this thing, just gotta bring in some pieces to surround them

ETA: full 162 with Dusty at the helm too. That should be something

Aren’t y’all broke? The Redsox are flush with cash and need outfield production badly. Wouldn’t that be some shite if we sign Springer?

I just don’t see why the Red Sox would spend. They aren’t anywhere close to being a contender. Springer alone doesn’t make them a top 3 team in that division, they probably have the least upside of anyone in that division TBQH. George is a natural fit to go up there, don’t think that would shock anyone since he’s from the northeast and probably wants to be closer to home.

The Red Sox roster is brutal but if they want to spend I could see him going there. Could also see the Mets going after him

My other thought was Mets too. New ownership group, a big need in CF, veteran winning presence in a young talented lineup. Hed be a great fit there

Springer, Mookie, Bellinger is going to be a strong OF for a while.

In 2012 they were 69-93 and everyone said they weren’t close. They made a few offseason acquisitions and won 97 games on their way to a WS title in the following season.

It’s not like the Redsox don’t have a history of remarkable turnarounds. Springer addresses a major need in the outfield and we would still have enough cash to fix our pitching issues.

So they traded their MVP in his prime to save 15m a year?

Also, Boston has no bullpen and their starters were some of the worse in baseball. Add they traded their 1B, Bradley Jr is a FA, they have no 2B, etc.... Let them sign Springer to finish 4th in the AL East next year.

As far as the Astros.... OF will be a concern but I wouldn't mind signing Profar as he was pretty good last year with the Padres and has some position versatility. Let Brantley walk, he has been great but his age unless he will will to sign a 1 year deal with option.

Pitching staff is fairly set but I believe they bring in a vet to limit the innings of the younger guys. The bullpen needs help but they try to fix it within.

I'd hope they resign Springer but he may be looking for 20-25m a year over 4-5. Which may be too expensive considering. Eaton/Gordon may be options considering you could get them cheap as a fill gap. Puig and JBJ are options and I wouldn't mind Bradley in CF.

The 2020 roster and 2012 rosters aren’t even close to comparable.

Anyways no one cares, once the World Series is over hopefully someone can start a full MLB offseason thread and we can discuss all teams and their transactions around the league

Profar is a very interesting option.

Wouldn’t mind Bradley either if Springer is gone (or you could slide Springer to RF if you wanted)

He has played every position on the diamond but catcher and pitcher so he would be serviceable. Run him out like the Astros use to use Marwin giving 400+ AB and players a day off here and there
