Yes. Alvarez is Evan Gattis on defense. He has a good bat but he's not good enough to be just a bat.

I wish. Not in the cards for me this spring unfortunately

Did pull the trigger on a 28 game season ticket package though

tKing believes he's a better hitter whenever he can avoid those dreaded skip-a-meal cramps.

Who knew that the key to solving the Gattis/White DH battle was to simply have White eat Gattis.

I wonder if Ludlow regrets his decision to let them decide it with a steel cage match to the death.

Framber did Framber things in his 2nd spring start.

Pitched around a double in the 1st.

2nd inning:

Walk
Walk
Force out
Single
Single
Double play

If its between he and Peacock for the 5 spot, you've got to go with Peacock over Guduan Jr.

Idiotic not to resign either keuchel or Morton.

Alvarez is going to be an absolute monster.

The Morton deal definitely is perplexing.

I think Luhnow went further out on the limb betting on an injury than he would have been to re-sign.

But his sudden loss of velocity late in the season, and undoubted signs behind the scenes must have played a part in the decision.

Analytics guys map out when they expect players to decline and base their value on their models.

Astros I’m assuming weren’t willing to give him the contract other teams were and wouldn’t overpay.

Apparently Carlito hit a ball 113 mph the over day, didn’t have one over 105 after coming off DL last year. Good news I think

I was hoping to watch the game today but apparently I accidentally turned it on the Bryce Harper Network.

Whitley got shelled today. Defense didn't do him any favors but his command was poor and didnt get many chases. Wilson Ramos jumped all over a first pitch fastball for a grand slam.

Yordan Alvarez is so disciplined at the plate. Impressive for a 21 year old. And he's got the frame to be a big-time power hitter. He's a big dude. Looking forward to seeing what he can do in the Bigs when he gets his shot.
