The more I e thought about it, the best way to get rid of Dusty is to win the whole damn thing. He can finally get his WS win as a manager, and go off in the sunset. If we get close and lose, he will be too tempted to come back. He also knows our house of cards starting rotation is about to collapse and losing Carlos will make it a lot harder to win next year, so leaving on a high note is the obvious better choice.

The series isn’t over yet. If the Astros lose 2 in a row at home, there are ample chances for Baker to contribute to that. Hopefully, we won’t have to have this conversation but don’t sell him short. He blew a 5-0 lead in Game 6 of the World Series in 2002 needing 1 win.

I’ve never seen a fan base so down on a coach who is one win away from taking his team to the WS. It’s true LT pathetic…. I’m sorry he didn’t go 162-0.

I've been right there with most of y'all as Dusty critics but it's only fair to point out that he has pressed the right buttons this postseason. The bullpen has delivered and that's in no small part from Dusty putting them in the right positions (he had plenty of trial and error in the regular season).
Even in the games we were blown out he got us through the games with the right arms still being available for later. Maybe this is the go-round where the stars align. All that said, I do want a new manager next year.

I’m late to the party today, somewhere out in the country near Bienville and Webster parish. I had to take my mom to her follow up at LSU Ochsners this morning.
All is well and she’s hoping to watch at least a little of the Astros tonight!
