Astros are hitting well, but I'm not betting the moneyline on them yet.

The only silver lining in this whole debacle is that if the Astros lose, the Rangers aren’t getting past the Phillies

Meh, they’ve been just as hot as Philly. They would rake at Citizens Bank. Hope you’re right though if that is the matchup

Hopefully playoff Javi is a thing, need him to continue his form from his last couple of outings.

Assuming Scherzer is on some sort of pitch limit since he hasn't started a game since 9/12. Would be really sweet to get after him with QAB's and scratch a couple across early. Make the Rags play from behind.

Hope we get the Javier from last start.

Regardless, on the road is where the team wakes up every single time, which still confuses me. Think we win tonight.

Obviously not on topic in this thread but Astros related, I wonder if Nola would be interested in coming back closer to home

Seems like something could work given all of the usual and customary parameters involved with Astros signings. His first deal with Phillies was very reasonable.

I'm not remembering any arm issues with Nola

It leaked this week Nola wanted like 8/200 or something insane last off-season.

No arm issues and extremely durable, but not sure I’d go lengthy for a career 3.75 30 year old coming off 2 of his last three seasons with a ~4.5 and giving up bunches of homers. He will be an interesting case in free agency

The amount of movement he gets without arm injury is astonishing

The analytics now will tell you risk for injury, and I'm sure that would play in his future deal

If JV is worth what we paid at his age, 6 yr 150 for Nola is an absolute steal

Performance wise in the regular season he’s been more for a #2 or #3 over the last 3 years. With below average velocity I’m not sure how he will age, and I think it will take more than 6/150. He’s been incredible this postseason though

I know I'm in the minority here, but if the Rangers knock off the Astros, I'm pulling for them to beat the phillies. Rangers are a damn good baseball team, and I'm okay with them having some success. Way better than dealing with the media and shitty Philidelphia getting another championship to crow about.

Besides, some of my favorite yard guys are Rangers fans. They do a better job of cutting my yard when they are happy.

Yep. Alvarez and Brantley are hitting well. Dubon somewhat also. Otherwise nada.

Astros +110 is juicy juicy

Stros play better on the road for some reason

Scherzer hasnt pitched in 5 weeks and on a pitch count

Stros bullpen much better than Rangers

Dont see the rangers going up 3-0 here

Do you really think $25m/yr is that crazy for an ace pitcher?

It's not the AAV it's the years for a 30 year old middle of the rotation guy without true "plus" stuff.

If you can guarantee some team is getting close to the Nola we've seen the last few times out? Yea sure rip it I'm just not sold on him being an ace or him aging into an ace.

Those last 3 years is not an ace, sorry. 25 a year is fine but I don’t wanna pay him until he’s 37 or 38

I mean scherzer is getting $43m/yr at very comparable numbers and much less durability

I'm sure that's what will also happen with me.

I'm a sucker for fanbases that have suffered. I enjoyed the Red Sox and Cubs exorcising their demons, because I could project my suffering as an Astros fan.

I can overlook some of their fans that come in and pot shot our threads. I remember Bochy with the Astros.
