He stopped taking AZT which Freddy never stopped taking. He said he felt like it was killing him. So he consulted another doc, started a new med and been living for over thirty years taking it.

He had exhibited HIV/AIDS symptoms as early as 1982 and was diagnosed with AIDS in 1987. Magic was diagnosed with HIV in 1991 and it was discovered pretty early, his disease had not progressed to AIDS.
Medicine can change dramatically in 5 years and early diagnosis of HIV is the key to inhibiting the progression to HIV.
