Dabo makes $9 million a year. He is part of the problem.

I actually like this idea. For every big time transfer there are many others who won't make it to the NFL. Transferring can set some of these back education wise. I know they all want to make it to the NFL, but they won't

He's right.

3 new rules we can implement ASAP...

#1 Head Coaches and Coordinators cannot leave their current jobs until AFTER the bowl games. If they do, they must sit out a year.

#2 Players can announce their intentions to transfer out, but they cannot PLAY in a game for a new team until the next season begins.

Meaning, we are implementing a "league calendar" which runs from 3 days after the National Championship is played and through the next year's Natty

#3 Two signing periods - We will move the DEC ESD up to August 1 (ish). And we'll keep the Feb signing date as is.

Again - coaches must remain on staff until the end of the calendar year. So will student-athletes.

Yes, they can transfer in August from LSU to Auburn.... but they aren't eligible to play until the following year. You gotta stick with that team.

Would I be more lenient on the redshirt rules? Absolutely. We want kids to be eligible and play.

Interesting tidbit from today. Venables’ kids just announced they aren’t transferring from Clemson.

You do realize he didn't start out making that kind of bank?

He earned that money...

Also, another thing Dabo said about the portal is there are currently around 2000 players in the portal and most of those kids have no where to go and have greatly hurt their chances to play or continue their education.

Only a small handful of kids already have another place locked in.

Remember when people equated a draft to slavery?

Now, you can literally buy the services of an athlete.

Most players don't have a shot at the NFL

So for most players it should be about education

The players that will fit into the category of big NIL deals and entering the transfer portal are the players that have expectations (and most likely the talent to some extent) of making the NFL. Education has not been the top priority for many of those players.

Funny how this is only a problem now that rats are leaving the sinking ship.

LSU has had problems with this but we also majorly benefitted from it with Burrow and others. So we deal.

Just don’t go crying about the break down of amateurism when you are one of the highest paid coaches in that amateur sport….hell probably one of the highest in both college and pro.

Unlike the draft they can pick the school that they wish to render those services. Just like most working stiffs that chose the company they work for.

Dabo wouldn’t let his commits go on OVs to other schools. But yes, now people are manipulating young men. Not before this. Definitely not ?

Not close to what he does......insane how misquoted he is on that statement. He gives out very low number of offers and if you commit they shutdown that position and expect the same ....if not ready to commit keep going, but if the position fills then they recend the offer that might still be open....I know he is hated here but it seems fair for both sides.

Reminder that Dabo offered $300k to Rashaan Gary back in 2016.

Nobody makes anybody play in the NFL either. If you want to play, the draft is part of the process.

I think that was his intent. But I think he has been shocked at the number of current players who have entered and are not longer willing to go through the “process.” With their numbers being depleted with transfers, he will have no choice but to use it now. Sure, he won’t use it to build his roster like some, but he has to use it. Either that, or stop coaching college now.

Well Clemson will go down with he and his ego. The sport is moving forward. Like it or not.

I like this idea. I think a open season that ran from the day after the NC until the end of April where any player could transfer and play the upcoming season. Anything after that a player can declare for the portal but would have to sit out for the upcoming season.
