Secondly, he works for LSU. How much of the critical analysis will we get

Almost every local BR radio host gets some sort of check from LSU and “works” for them.

You’re worrying about this now? 104.5 is an extension of LSU at this point (outside of Mascona).

Hester is so bad. He’s the retired player/coach who only uses cringey cliches, made worse by the fact that he works for LSU and won’t say anything negative about them.

Say something negative about Orgeron

I like Hunt but he's a second mic guy. That's the issue OTB has. Both T-Bob and Hester are second mics.

Hopefully they can pair Hunt up with a good host that drives the conversation. I appreciate his analysis. Reminds me a lot of Hanny. Can be objective enough to respect his opinions but he still bleeds purple and gold which you need in this market.

Hanny and hunt wouldve been great. Or culotta and hunt. But 104.5 doesnt have a good 1st mic to go with hunt i dont think.

Allow the clichefiller-ometer to demonstrate 30 seconds of listening to relief in the middle:

At the end of the day, it's very interesting, we were talking about this off-mic, someone needs to step-up, he fits the bill, the coaches rave about him, they have very interesting pieces, I'm not saying he's the answer, up to par

Musso is tolerable, but Mario's delivery is just so grating, can't put my finger on it. I think its his inflection on the end of every sentence. He is knowledgeable, but he's just really tough to listen to.

I like Hunt, I'll definitely listen

Mario Jerez and Musso seem like nice enough guys, but it was painful to listen to them.

Really enjoyed it post Culotta & the Prince. Was sad when they added Tbob. Would've preferred Hunt permanently.

Hunt is probably the most knowledgeable

He's ok but readily admits he knows nothing about the tactics of football and won't even bother trying to learn to some basic level.

Really like Hunt a lot. My 2 concerns: who will be on there with him. Could still be someone like Musso which wouldn't be great. Secondly, he works for LSU. How much of the critical analysis will we get. Either way, at least I have a midday show again.

If you’ve ever listened to Hunt, you know he doesn’t toe the company line. He will give you his honest opinion.

This won't matter if he can get the right guests and ask the right questions. Speaking for 3 hours a day and interviewing people is a real talent. I dislike Moscona and won't listen to him (most of the time), but I acknowledge that he's a very talented guy. His on air persona just sucks and he does the same unfunny bits over and over. I just want someone that can run the show and talk about things we care about and have the right guests and not use a bunch of crutch words and awkward pauses to think about what to say next.

Do any of the other hosts offer tactical analysis of LSU sports? T-Bob and Hester obviously do, but everyone hates them as hosts.

Football isnt his strength, he wont have alot of the x’s and o’s, but its really not necessary to have a good show. Tbob and hester can fill that void for anyone who really wants it and can stomach it…..if they have time with all their lists and glory days talk. Hunt can still have takes about football and how they played, thoughts on how they matchup, etc. and he can get decent guests to provide their takes.

The fact that the former 104.5 employee is the one breaking this news is kind of funny

I'll jump in here. It's true. Jeremy Hill and I will start our new show a week from today 2/9. We'll be on from 12-2 M-F. I'm honored to be given the opportunity by Guaranty, and I'm really excited to work with Jeremy. I covered him in my writing days. We've certainly got two different perspectives on college football.

As is the case with anything, it's going to take a little bit of time for us to hit stride, but with football here and what should be really exciting basketball and baseball teams on the horizon, it's a great time to dive in.

I really appreciate the kind words in this thread. I've always loved my time on air and hope that the audience gets something out of it.

I hope y'all will make us part of your day starting next week.
