The ball had hit the ground by the time the hit happened and Hunter pulled up.
That kind of hit is why the "defenseless player" rules exist.

Certainly worthy of the penalty but it’s kinda noticeable how no one shows it in real time anymore… because in real time the hit came a split second late but was otherwise a pretty typical shoulder DBs give as a pass gets broken up.
It looks much worse due to hunters particular reaction to getting hit. I mean the DB didn’t even lower his shoulder. Seems like a freak injury.
Anyway when you play a 170-lb kid both ways through a P5 football season you’re putting his health at much greater a risk than that DB who took a bit of a cheap shot. One simply has to assume that the CU staff was going to migrate his time to one side of the ball or the other (CB assumedly) because purely from a numbers standpoint, putting a player through that snap count would be so stupid that it borders on culpable. Would be like having an mlb pitcher start every other game.

Brother, go back and watch the play. The safety never even looked for a ball. He had his eyes on leveling Hunter the entire fricking time. The ball actually bounced two yards beyond the safety and he never broke his stride. He knew he was clobbering that guy.
You do realize safeties play the man all the time, correct?
More times than not they either can’t locate the ball or realize they’re going to be late and play the man to try and break up the pass.
He didn’t go for the head. He didn’t go for the knees. It was a big hit which happens every single game. You people are overreacting big time.

if Travis Hunter only played defense this would have never happened

Safeties are indeed coached to make sure they do not commit unnecessary roughness penalties.
I swear can y’all just admit the dude wanted to hurt him. It’s obvious. You see when he walks away. He knew what the call was going to be

Yep, when you keep talking shite, you should probably expect to be hit. Was definitely flag worthy, but really doesn't look that bad in real speed.

I can't believe people are downvoting you. That is a blatantly dirty play.

Not 2-3 seconds, but it was late enough, and he wasn't making a play for the ball.
Two refs threw flags for a reason.

I just watched a clip and the defender hit him with his shoulder. WTH ,call was not a good one.
It doesn't matter. He was a defenseless receiver. That's been a penalty for a long time.

I'm told that it's just hard-hitting football and Hunter wouldn't last in the SEC.

Nobody cares. Colorado players will continue to get laid out until they either quit running their mouths or back it up. Actually back it up. Not poke players in the eyes.

This happens almost every game and he got flagged for it.
Remind me why this one has its own thread again?

Agree, with other player was blocking his view at the critical time and he could not see what had happened.

He wouldn’t. That’s why he chose FSU before Barstool paid him to go to Jackson.

The Colorado Buffs football team has made normally irrational posters into unhinged irrational posters

there's a lot of people that don't like that Deion is loud/cocky. he should keep his mouth shut and try not to get his program daily national media coverage because surely that would bring in all the same recruits that daily national coverage gets.
they mad deion and his players done got uppity
