His words asking players to “stay on the plantation” harkens back to America's history of slave labor on plantations up until slavery was abolished in 1865.

I have no problem with him apologizing, this is a pretty bad slip up when you're talking to a room full of brothers. I would have a problem if he received any punishment or flack from his players.
This is Creighton though, so it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of the team is white.
