Usain Bolt had the distinction of being the undisputed fastest human ever to live in both the 100 and 200m for over a decade, and people still actually debate who was the greatest athlete of all time.

Michael Phelps has never won the 50 or 100 freestyle in any major competition ever, which would stake some claim to fastest swimmer in the world. Is he magically not the GOAT swimmer

Add Nebraska this weekend to the list...

1st downs:
Nebraska 26
Michigan State 12 (Michigan State didn't get a single 1st Down the entire 2nd half.)

Passing:
Nebraska 255
Michigan State 183

Rushing:
Nebraska 187
Michigan State 71

Total yards:
Nebraska 442
Michigan State 254

Time of Possession:
Nebraska 38
Michigan State 22

Turnovers:
Nebraska 2
Michigan State 1

Penalties:
Nebraska 40 yards
Michigan State 44 yards

Nebraska loses 23-20 in OT.

Nebraska just keeps finding creative new ways to lose. Their special teams are atrocious.

The craziest disparity in stats is still the steelers/texans

In 2002, the expansion Texans played the Steelers (who would go on to win the AFC North).

Total Yards:
Houston - 47
Pittsburgh - 422

Time of Possession:
Houston - 20:19
Pittsburgh - 39:41

First Downs:
Houston - 3
Pittsburgh - 24

Passing Yards:
Houston - 10 (0.7 ypa)
Pittsburgh - 294

Rushing Yards:
Houston - 37 (1.4 ypc)
Pittsburgh - 128

Maybe one of the worst offensive performances in NFL history.

Final Score:
Houston 24
Pittsburgh 6

In 1980 all 5 AFC playoff teams, heading into the final weekend, had a chance to be the #1 seed but also could have missed the playoffs entirely.

Pats did.

They needed one team out of 5 to lose and they make the playoffs. They didn't. Every team team they needed to lose, won.

All 5 playoff teams in the AFC finished 11-5. Pats finished 10-6. In fact in one of the scenarios played out, the Pats could've been been the #1 seed.

Instead they missed the playoffs.

The Steelers have been involved in a box score much weirder than that. 2002 Texans at Steelers

First downs:
HOU 3
PIT 24

Total yards:
HOU 47
PIT 422

Third down conversions:
HOU 1/12
PIT 8/23

Time of possession:
HOU 20:19
PIT 39:41

Final score:
HOU 24
PIT 6

ETA: And here's a fun baseball stat from this year. On 5/4/2021, Huascar Ynoa hit a grand slam against the Nationals. He was the first Braves pitcher to hit a grand slam since Jaime Garcia on 7/21/2017.

On 7/24/2017, three days after hitting his grand slam, Jaime Garcia was traded from the Braves to the Twins for a 19 year old pitching prospect in A ball. That pitching prospect was Huascar Ynoa.
