be interested to see if any other teams/coaches tolerate him screaming at people on the sidelines mid-game

Good move!! Can’t pay him 12 million

Wow.
Not unexpected, but still it blows my mind how relatively quickly an athlete's stock can rise and fall.

Todd Archer:

The Cowboys have released Dez Bryant after the receiver's meeting with Jerry Jones, according to a source. A source said Bryant was not offered a pay cut, while another source added that Bryant will not be designated a post-June 1 cut. The Cowboys will save $8 million against the cap this season with the move.

especially given the current state. cowboys are 32/32 in potential spending.

We should avoid taking a WR early. We’re a running football team that should build the trenches. Look at the Jaguars, they have a clear plan to continue building up front for Fournette and that Defense to play physical ball. We already have too much cash tied away at WR with Hurns, Beasley and Terrance. That cash could be used to already having guys like Zach Martin and Demarcus Lawrence locked up for the long term. Give me someone with high potential like Daurice Fountain 4th or 5th round instead of wasting a high pick that could go to topping off the OL or Front 7...could even use another safety.

Most receiving TD's in the NFL since 2012.
But he's garbage.

Ehh... He's been a pain in the arse pretty much since he set foot in Dallas so it's not too big shock they are cutting bait w/how his production has fallen off. If he had been a model citizen the entire time he'd probably have at least gotten the chance to restructure his deal.
This does make it all the more obvious it was stupid as hell to not let Romo come back as QB his final year. That team was built to win around what Romo could do. Dak is a lot of things but a dude who can sling the ball around through tight windows and deep shots to a WR like Dez he ain't.

Since he step foot in Dallas? Look at the numbers, before his injuries and big contract I don’t think any Boys fans or coaches were complaining about Dez Bryant. It’s the lack of production with being tied down to a large contract with him. If Dez was on a smaller contract he would be wearing the star in 2018 but that’s not the case sadly.

To a guy who didnt put up elite numbers (alot alot due to his qb i know) with measurables of this:
That isnt a good trade off

We shouldn’t be targeting a WR 1st or 2nd round to begin with. Earliest I’d go is someone big bodied like St. Brown or Simmie Cobb in the 3rd if there’s an obvious steal available.

I'm sorry but if you have no idea about Dez causing issues from the start of his being here you have had your head in the sand.
It's not just his production, his teammates don't like him and he's an off field issue waiting to happen. The dude has always been a pain in the arse but his production was good enough to look past that when he was younger. Now it isn't. This isn't some mystery that he was a pain in the arse for the Cowboys.
Again, if he was well liked by his teammates and was a model citizen off the field he'd have been given the chance to restructure. He isn't so he wasn't.

The Cowboys reportedly met with #LSU WR DJ Chark for a private workout on Wednesday. Seems like they are now another team who could be looking to draft him.

Lets just go through the top "32 #1 receivers", maybe bottom 5 #1 receiver is an exaggeration (maybe bottom 10), but he's far from the top 5 WR that he used to be.
A lot are comparable to him in production these days, even considering the amount of targets they all get (Like Goodwin getting ~100), but Dez also got 133 and just simply did not produce very well.
12th in targets, 28th in yards. That's pretty bad. Look at the top 10 in targets:
1. Hopkins 4th yards
2. Brown 1st yards
3. Fitzgerald 8th yards
4. Landry 17th yards*
5. Allen 3rd yards
T6. Jones 2nd yards
T6. M Thomas 6th yards
8. Green 12th yards
9. Thielen 5th yards
10. D Thomas 20th yards
AFC East:
NE - Gronk - better
Buffalo - Benjamin - worse
Miami - Parker - worse
NYJ - Anderson/Kearse - same
AFC North:
Pittsburgh - Brown - better
Baltimore - Crabtree - same
Cincy - Green - better
Cleveland - Landry - same
AFC South:
Jacksonville - Lee - same
Tennessee - Walker/Matthews - same
Indy - Hilton - better
Houston - Hopkins - better
AFC West
KC - Hill/Kelce - better
LA Chargers - Allen - better
Oakland - Cooper - better
Denver - Thomas - better
NFC East
Philly - Ertz/Jeffery - better
Dallas - Hurns - same, they think Dez is disposable if they signed hurns and let butler walk, no?
Washington - Crowder/Doctson - same
NY Giants - OBJ - better
NFC North
Minny - Thielen/Diggs - better
Detroit - Tate/Jones - better
Green Bay - Adams - better
Chicago - Robinson - better/same* (injury)
NFC South
NOLA - Thomas - better
Carolina - Funchess - same (came on after KB's trade and he was the go-to #1 for Cam)
Atlanta - Jones - better
TB - Evans - better
NFC West
LA Rams - Cooks - better
Seattle - Baldwin - better
Arizona - Fitzgerald - better
San Fran - Goodwin - same

That's a substantial drop off and I was a huge "Dez was a top 2 WR only to Calvin Johnson" a few years ago.
He's fallen off or Dak just sucks.
