Time to start the debate. Could Alabama beat the Patriots?
PFT Commenter brings up some good points in his article

quote:
-Alabama had four 2017 first round draft picks. The Patriot’s had zero. That kind of talent gap is tough to bridge
quote:
-The Patriot’s best wide receivers played QB and lacrosse in college, Alabama’s best Wide Receivers play Wide Receivers
quote:
-Alabama has more then 10 times as many wins as the Patriots this year.
quote:
Every year the Patriots only have to be better then 30 other professonal football teams and the New York Jets. Alabama however has to beat 127 colleges in order to win a national title.

No. The Worst NFL teams wins by 35-70 depending on the day.
An NFL team consists of grown men working full time at their craft.and even the worst guys are battling over a 53 man roster against other pros.
College kids do this part time and certainly there could be 5-6 players on college completely better than the NFL player and their position but as a whole it's not even comparable.
You can state enough how much impact a typical 5 year pro's advantage would be from having a full time job called "football" versus a 19 year old making his 11th start ever and practing 5 months a year.

All valid criticisms IMO.
On the other hand, Tom Brady threw for 369 yards and 4 TDs against Alabama the last time he faced them, so I like his moxie.

no one wants to argue against any of the points laid out in the OP I see, not surprised
Posted on 9/11/17 at 12:33 pm to Tigerfan56
you may be joking but rest assured someone will be here to argue it seriously

Lol. If I took a shite in a paper bag and labelled it "points" are you going to respond?

Do we really need this thread again?
It comes down to a few things on why an NFL team would smash an NCAA Team:
1. NFL team is made up of college stars. Some players who were dominant in the NCAA fail in the NFL because of the sheer talent gap at all positions. A touted "once in a generation" player like a Reggie Bush didn't come close to the same success he had in college.
2. An NFL O line would mail a college D line. An NFL D Line would destroy a college O line. Grown arse men going against boys.
3. Depth, depth, and more depth.
Honestly, a game between Bama and the Jets would get super uncomfortable after the first quarter when probably every Bama QB is put out the game.
This is like the McGregor vs Mayweather superfight, except that fun hypothetical actually happened and McGregor didn't stand a chance at any point. This is the same, but football.

so you admit you have no rebuttal to the facts in the OP

The Patriot’s best wide receivers played QB and lacrosse in college, Alabama’s best Wide Receivers play Wide Receivers
I mean, aside from Tom Brady?

Take it up with the author if you have a problem. He's readily available on Twitter. He's a football guy through and through, though. He knows his shite.

This thread again, from another idiot, yay!

I'm saying 1st round picks are irrelevant. A 1st round draft pick like Johnny Manziel vs a 6th round draft pick in Tom Brady.
It's going full retard and I don't want to argue when someone crosses that line.

This is the dumbest of the dumb sports hypotheticals
