There's a lot of this going around social media right now. Does the MSB agree?
quote:

If you want to truly understand why the hiring of Jeff Saturday as interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts is an insult, a huge one, to every Black coach in the NFL, and every potential Black coach who might someday hope to become one, look no further than a man named Marcus Brady.

Brady spent nine seasons coaching for two CFL teams. He was a player in Canada for three teams. He was an offensive coordinator in the CFL. Brady, who is Black, was recently fired as the Colts' offensive coordinator.

That's fine. Coaches get fired.

But think about the logic of saying he's not good enough to be a coordinator but Jeff Saturday, with no coaching experience in the NFL or college, is good enough to be the team's interim head coach? Of course that makes no sense.

This is nothing against Saturday, an ESPN analyst since 2013, but the idea that he's qualified is ludicrous. He isn't close to it. This is a joke.

There is no Black NFL equivalent of a Jeff Saturday. Black ex-players with zero coaching experience can't just walk off the street and get head coaching jobs, and this is what makes this situation so angering, frustrating and embarrassing.

Look up white privilege in the dictionary and you see this situation playing on the back nine of Augusta with Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

To be fair, up until this afternoon there was no white version of Jeff Saturday either with this being the first time this has been done.

Irsay is a big dummy. Colts deserve this kind of press that’s coming to them.

So one of the qualifications that makes this fired OC so great is that he played for three teams in Canada. The article goes on to state that Saturday is not qualified, yet he had a 13 year borderline hall of fame career. Make it make sense.

Seems like Reggie should have been the guy if Irsay wanted a Colts legend because he's actually on the staff but by far the two most qualified candidates currently working for the team are Gus Bradley and John Fox.

You're not alone either. They have definitely went to the well too many times with it and many are tuning it out

Not even close to the same situation. Deion didn’t walk off the street to become a coach at an SEC or Big 12 school. He’s been building small programs.

I don't see the argument here. one has solid evidence that he's not capable...end of story there

Saturday is an interim coach...as in .. Knowingly temporary. He has two metric tons of elite experience Who knows, he might be a great coach and stay 15 years or he may be back to whatever in Jan. But we know the other guy wasn't going to get it done.

He was an offensive coordinator for a few years at his sons high school. That is what he meant by building programs I guess.

What program did he build before he got the JSU job?

People are trying to survive record inflation, few people have the luxury to care who is coaching the Colts.
