Why are AU and UA fans obsessed with their rivalry being the "most intense" this is a matter of opinion guys chill out

They think that anyone that debates or isn't overly impressed by their "tree killings" and iron bowl history is just DUMB

I would add USC - Notre Dame (fish eyes level of boiling; it's respectful due to the histories of both programs unlike some big brother/little brother rivalries.)

agree

It's like ranking party schools. Everyone thinks their shite is the greatest.

Being insular breeds incredulity.

And because you've lived in Alabama for five years that somehow automatically makes you an expert on the rivalry? I've lived in Alabama all my life. Every day from January 1 - December 31, that game is all the state cares about. You can't say the same for Ohio and Michigan because there are professional football teams in both those states to placate them.

USC - ND is a great rivalry because of the programs respective traditions, but i wouldnt categorize it as "hateful"

the frick? this is the big one for state bragging rights no doubt..but "all the state cares about"? Hmm..you make it sound like they don't play any other important games..

I wouldn't expect an LSU fan to know about a true rivalry.

I'm not falling for that

Historically Texas and Oklahoma aren't even each others #1 rivals.

Which is funny cuz OU fans think Texas is but obviously Texas does not share the same belief.

should be texas and texas a&m

OU is a much bigger rival for Texas and always has been. It's early in the season when both teams are usually undefeated and highly ranked. The season's hopes are high only to be made or dashed in the cotton bowl.

Texas vs. A&M was about family bragging rights on thanksgiving weekend and very rarely anything more. Not to discount the rivalry.. but TX-OU weekend is HUGE in importance on so many levels.

Yeah...and last time I checked Florida and Georgia were both in a region where college football is king. The NFL doesn't matter as much down here as it does in the midwest.

There is no state in the South that can claim to better than the other, save maybe Florida. Don't even bring up state vs. state when it comes to the South. And you're from Louisiana then you have no shite to talk.

I can already count 3 separate occasions in class this semester where a professor has poked fun at Alabama.

OH MAN 3 times?!?!? I can't speak for the overall bitterness of your rivalry, but if you are bragging about your teaching poking fun at your rival school 3 times as some sort of proof, then this debate isn't even close.

OSU coaches get fired because they win all their games except Michigan...can you say the same for auburn and alabama? I wouldn't think so.

Ask Bill Curry that question. He got death threats and a brick thrown through his window. He left of his own accord but the dude was pretty much run out of town.

Also ask Mike Shula that question as well. His fate was sealed the night he lost to Auburn in 2006.

Tommy Tuberville was let go from Auburn because Alabama was rising under Saban and Tubby didn't have the drive or work ethic to keep up.

I don't anymore. Just went there for school. For you to say that it's the "only thing the state cares about" is reaching. I'm sure they care about conference and national titles too

You said that the Michigan and Ohio State rivalry wasn't as strong because both states had NFL teams. Georgia and Florida both have NFL teams as well.
