One sport can't even pick the two teams who should be playing.

since 98 when the BCS started, there is ONE argument as to who was the best team (2003)

CBB is so accurate a shite team like george mason was one of the 4 best teams a few years ago

yeah which system is more accurate

Use the BCS system 4 vs 1, 2 vs 3, then NC game. When has the number 5 team really had a legit claim to NC? take 2 weeks between games and play the bowls then

Most years there aren't 4 deserving teams in cfb, but then there are years like 2006. Look up the final standings in 2006 and explain how no one would get shafted.

Fact of the matter is that the normal sports fan only gives a shite about CBB when the tourney comes around which in itself is 3 weeks of awesomeness; HOWEVER, CFB is basically 14 weeks of AWESOMENESS...

Please don't change CFB one bit. I love the fact that LSU has 3 or 4 games a YEAR that have very significant NC implications!

shite, people only like the first weekend of the tourny. Most who are loving yesterday and today won't watch the final four.

I hate to open this can of worms again. But, every year when I watch March Maddness it just reminds me how great it would be to have a playoff system. Just take the BCS games (8 teams ) and make a play off out of it. Case closed.

You do realize that basketball and football are 2 completely different sports, right?

And I watched maybe 5 minutes of CBB this year BECAUSE the regular season means shite. The tournament is fun but does not even compare to the awesomeness that is the CFB regular season.

to miami, AT miami (when that meant something), when their starting QB got hurt and a true freshman brohm had to play

1. USC
2. OU
3. AU
4. Texas (1 loss, to OU)
5. Cal (1 loss, to USC)
6. Utah (0 losses)
7. BSU (0 losses)

then 1-loss, non-BCS UL vs 2-loss, BCS conf champ VT

4 teams? wouldn't work
6 teams? wouldn't work
8 teams? MAY work, but would still have serious debates

once you lower the entrance qualifications by expanding the #, the arena for debates opens

shite CBB should adopt a multiple-game series system and cut down the teams b/c it is basketball and they can do it

8 teams, 3-game series. THAT should be the tournament

Hell no. It would screw over the stronger conferences such as the Big East and ACC. Also, the first and second round of the NCAA tourney is the only thing worth watching about March Madness unless my team is playing.

so you sacrifice a good system for entertainment? nice. at least you admit it

And in 2004 most of those teams get left out for conference champs because that's who will get in an 8 team playoff. That means you're selecting between Texas and Cal for an at-large AND between Boise, Utah, and UL for the non-BCS at large. Yeah, that's way better than just playing 1 vs 2

What about the 9th ranked team? and 10th ranked team? What if the SEC dominates the polls and has 3 teams in the top 8, what if there are 4 teams with the same record in the 7-10 rankings?

still beats the hell out of well what about the 3rd and 4th ranked teams with the same records. you can never please everyone.. but i believe everyone would be much happier with an 8 team playoff than the current bcs 2 team.

i will never forget how auburn goes undefeated in the SEC and still never got to even play in the national championship. i mean seriously?

March Madness is great in the first and second round. Then it starts to get boring.

8 Ohio State 10-2
9 Georgia Tech 11-2
10 Iowa 10-2

i think gt and iowa would agree to an 8 team playoff system in a heartbeat. even if they "got screwed" one particular season. they still have 2 losses so they shouldn't cry too hard.

there is no worse screw job when you go undefeated in the sec and don't even get an opportunity to play in the bcs

i don't mind the bcs. if it did change i would prefer a 4 team playoff rather than an 8.. you are always going to have teams complaining.

this is pretty much the most solid argument against a playoff in my mind every time I consider it to myself.

How many times have we seen the two best teams play for the BCS national championship?

1998- Tennessee vs. Ohio State
1999- Florida State vs. Virginia Tech (BCS got it right)
2000- Oklahoma vs. Miami
2001- Miami vs. Oregon/Florida
2002- Ohio State vs. Miami (BCS got it right #2)
2003- LSU vs. USC
2004- USC vs. Auburn
2005- Texas vs. USC (BCS got it right #3)
2006- Florida vs. Ohio State (BCS got it right #4)
2007- LSU vs. Georgia/USC
2008- Florida vs. USC
2009- Alabama vs. Texas (BCS got it right #5)

So the BCS has basically gotten it right in five out of the twelve years. That's less than 50%. How much worse would an eight team playoff system be?
