Typical libitard, he may have a point, but he only points out the obvious on one side. Call it like you see it on both sides but he won't

NBA doesn't have a way to protect fans from the fighting - especially in the high priced first few rows.

NHL/Nascar - big arse walls inbetween.

ETA - for those of you saying the NASCAR fight was between redneck hillbillies, Gordon is from California and Keselowski is from Michigan. Not exactly redneck hillbillies.

Really...

It couldn't be because they grew up with no money and want to take advantage of finally making something of themselves could it? Not to mention they have close friends and family(who they are very loyal to) who tug at them and take advantage of them at every turn. I highly doubt they're going broke buying too many 45's and losing money gambling on dog fights, a-hole.

No doubt many of them could manage their money better, but it isn't a #thuglife issue all the time. Read up on how many lotto winners go broke. Heard of that tPOS Kurt Schilling?

1) He's not that far off, however fighting seems to be new within the last 20 years for the NBA and NASCAR; for Hockey it's been around forever.

2) He has gotten more and more political. I stopped listening to him after I figured it out. If I want a political opinion I'll listen to a political commentator. I am not going to listen to a guy who can barely articulate a consistent stance on college football when he starts going off on global warming.

I don't. First, the hockey comparison is ridiculous. The NASCAR one is too. Football players don't get the thug label when they fight like NBA guys do sometimes.

The only sport that I feel there's a bias compared to NBA fighting is baseball. And many times the "thuggery" is caused by Latin players, who if anyone has experience with, CAN be horrible people.

Anybody who sees a black NBA player show anger and claims thug is probably too far gone to be helped. Screw those folks and let em be. The number of these people dies off with each passing generation.

Part of the thug label during fights is the way they go down. And I don't think it's "thuggish" as much as it's childish. It's pretty documented that thugs(of any color) and childish people who fight do it in a very consistent manner.

Get mad at one person, notice you don't have a hoard of friends around, and talk endless shite about what you'd do to said person. Or, notice you do have backup, and talk shite while being held back by someone's index finger or throw a punch then hide behind said hoard of friends.

This is NOT the case with all "thuggish" people or NBA players, but it seems to happen more in that sport than hockey(where guys agree to fight sometimes) or NASCAR(where actual fights are kinda rare and punches are even more rare).

Baseball players will often charge into a 1 vs 6 scenario, which isn't "thuggish" at all. They do however do some pretty cowardly and fricked up stuff sometimes in baseball fights. And should be called out more, where NBA guys shouldn't be for some stuff they do.

Or Willis Reed fighting every Laker? Or the fact that Pre-NBA Basketball basically had more Goons than a John Chaney Temple team.

Gonna go out on a limb here and guess he's a social liberal and economical conservative...? If I had a dollar for every time he's said that

I don't mind his use of politics though. He's usually pretty fair when he does it, and I like the added angles he can use to explain his opinions. He's only pissed me off a handful of times and I listen to him fairly regularly.

My point is, I don't think his use of politics drags down his breakdown of sports.

It's a false premise.

First, who the hell has said the NASCAR fight was cool? Second, when is the last time a non-thuggy NBA player threw a punch and was labeled a thug?

Anyone saying the NASCAR fight was awesome is probably a NASCAR fan and a redneck. Just like anyone who says Ron Artest is not a thug is probably a pretty loyal NBA fan who may also be a thug. The rest of the world gets together on both incidents to label them appropriately.

Thug has an evolved connotation today. Yes, it is a derisive term used to describe black men, usually for violent or anti-social behavior, but sometimes it's used unnecessarily and unfairly, I admit. But nowhere in any definition of "thug" is "effeminate sounding pasty white guy from Vallejo California." It just doesn't make sense. Now we can call him trashy, or a redneck, or a douche, which undoubtedly has happened in light of the fight. But why would we call him a thug? It may have made sense 30 years ago, but it would strike almost everyone as weird today.

Very little, the majority of the people in this thread are saying he does, which in turn, these people are from the south, which most people have called NASCAR a white trash sport. Do you see what I'm getting at here. Most people in the south (which he is referring too) agree that it's white trash rednecks enjoying this. So he has no point.

So like someone else said, could you imagine anyone calling the NBA a black trash thug league?

NBA fans don't like NASCAR, NASCAR doesn't like NBA fans. That's about it. No need to insert agenda here and that's clearly what he is doing for ratings.

Just about every guy on "Broke" had a story or knew a guy who made a bad investment as well. It isn't just thugs who do this. And geez guys, the stereotypes in this thread I realize there is truth in many stereotypes but buying nice cars doesn't make someone a thug or bad person. My truck(2005 F-150) is on 37s and 24 inch wheels. I'm not a redneck or a thug

Have you ever heard of a MLB player, baseball player, or NASCAR driver being called a "thug" after a fight??

Let a NFL player talk trash(Richard Sherman), he's a thug. NFL/NBA player fight, they are thugs. Sheesh where have u been.
