Simple solution, just have two drafts. Regular draft and HBCU draft.
Exactly.
The drafts could be separate, but still equal.

The Raiders made a killing drafting HBCU players in the 60's because nobody else was really drafting them.
Instead they were just going after the Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC guys.
Well it's not the 1960's anymore. There's no segregation in the South. HBCU talent isn't remotely what it used to be.
The talent is at the top, not hidden at some HBCU.

I saw people on twitter legit saying there is no difference in talent between P5 and HBCU and that it’s attributable to less exposure and funding for the programs
Yeah, when I interact with say an LSU vs Southern player at the Walmart checkout counter, or in BR eateries..
There is usually a notable "Dick Vitale All-Airport Team" distinction, even on just the eyeball test. And it's not just P5 Nutrition Centers in 2021.
I doubt the NFL is out to blackball the next Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Tombstone Jackson, Harold Carmichael, Elvin Bethea, Mel Blount,etc..
Today, those former HBCU HOFers now all get scooped up by the P5s. Recruiting services are space age vs the Civil Rights era.

It's obvious that this was entirely due to the FCS fall season being derailed due to COVID.
This is the reason, but everyone has to get a participation trophy now. They decided to play in the spring with their season ending a month before the draft. What did they expect? Draft boards are already mostly in order by then I'm sure. The scouting has already been done.

What exactly is there to "fix"?

Why is that? Because Al Davis wanted to WIN and MAKE MONEY.
Unless someone is suggesting NFL owners today have different goals than Al did, wouldn't they ALL be attempting to draft the best players possible wherever they played?
Are these people as upset by the lack of players from Ivy League Schools drafted this year?

You sound triggered by black people having an opinion.
I wish they could just be “silent” like they were in the good ole days, right?

I can’t believe low level players aren’t drafted!!! Outrage!!!
Want to guess how many Ivy League players were drafted?

The purpose of HBCU is antiquated. Blacks can now attend any university they qualify for or their skin color gets them into. Close those schools down and save tax payer money!

Maybe the HBCUs need to have more of the things that attract their base of athletes to the "other" schools or expand their recruiting base.

You just triggered thousands of Southern University Law alumni.

If only there were a term to describe this behavior….
What a comically terrible take

Williams said, “It’s hard to believe that not one guy is worthy of being drafted,” said Washington Football Team senior adviser Doug Williams, a Grambling alum and the first Black quarterback to win a Super Bowl. “That to me, that’s a travesty. Hopefully, we can fix it.”
LOL Part of team, and how many did his team draft?

HBCUs don’t tend to play high quality ball these days and most players I think of who get drafted out of these schools tend to be athletic freaks like Dominique Rogers Cromartie.
In general, great athletes end up in FBS rather than FCS or D-II unless their grades were abysmal.

How many of them passed the bar on the first attempt? Or even the fifth?
Posted on 5/4/21 at 6:19 pm to High C
It’s never enough. Black people will bitch and complain about the dumbest shite until the end of time.
Posted on 5/4/21 at 6:21 pm to High C
Yeah the NFL is racist. That’s what almost 60% of its players are black. Dumbass motherfrickers.
