his name was tossed around a bit and he's definitely gonna be "kept in mind" (but not legitimately) if only because he is gonna be edging closer to the front of the line as his career goes on in future olympic cycles.

he himself has listed exactly popovich and rivers as the next in line ever since the olympics. and he's right.

Surprised Phil Jackson hasn't been mentioned.

Would be a lot to take on after a bit of time off from the game. Don't even know if he would accept an offer with his age and already storied accomplishments. Obviously, he would be a great choice. I just don't think he could commit for more then just a few years. We need a guy who will stay through the 2016 Olympics. Someone who will commit to that.

No, Colangelo wanted to bring him back for another 4 years. Don't think anyone expected him to come back though.

Definitely seems like a guy players like to play for and I can see him transitioning to the NBA one day. But for now I bet he would have credibility issues with NBA all stars.

Why is this news? Coach K said he was done coaching in the Olympics about 3 months ago.

Yeah, a few thought Coach K would end up changing his mind when it came down to it. He's officially out now though. It was just talk before.

Popovich but he is actually fairly old. Just 2 years younger than Coach K.

I had no idea Popovich was that young. Old man seems like he's 75.
