The video looks like the guy deliberately hit the kid.

ETA: He wasn't just protecting himself, or he would have stepped out of the way.

No legit.

Looks like the coach took a step toward him with his left leg. He did more than brace for the shot IMO

He did not blindsided the kid, but did throw the forearm. Probably pissed and took a shot...key to me would be the next 10 seconds...how did he react after the kid went down. Did he mock, stare or jump down to help the kid. Ref was right there and threw flag, etc.

The coach should be let off. Looks like he thought the kid was trying to run into him on purpose.

You can't really formulate a opinion from that vid.

I mean a 13 year old could easily be 5'7 130, with pads and helmet running can knock down a grown man.

That's why I think the next 10 seconds is key, to see how the coach reacted to the kid right after he fell!

Terrible perspective from the video and a typical case of overreactive parents. I experienced many situations in my playing days as a youth and parents can be awful awful whether they are the "victims" or the person committing the afflictions. All of those people involved need to take a long hard look in the mirror and realize its just a bunch of kids playing youth football, which coincidentally is a GAME. Move along now folks, stop employing lawyers in this capacity.

You usually don't give concussions by holding your ground, it looks like he extends his arms also.

It looks like standard reflex to me. If anyone is going to run into you, most likely you'll put your arms out and try to get him to fall.

Yes, not a forearm.
