Presti is good at talent. The key is now winning it all or else he’ll be chastised.

Check this SGA play in slow motion. He is very crafty and has elite ball skills. And after he got up he never complained for a foul. Presti found another star via Clippers trade

And they're still going to be a second round bounce from the playoffs

Where does this rank on worst NBA trades of all-time?

Behind the Luka trade
The Clips had to make that move. But KL is an idiot for wanting PG over SGA who was my favorite player

But OKC hasnt won anything either

Yet.

They look like a lock to make the finals so far given the rest of the west is pretty middling.

Them vs Cleveland or Boston will be interesting but they certainly seem to have the talent to win.

I see it as there was no way the Thunder lost that trade at the time. Worst case, SGA was going to be an effective ball distributor who is an elite defender, and you got a haul of picks.

Teams like the clippers + suns are built now purely on the 2-3 star player model, but they get exposed every time by teams with depth

Exactly. People easily can sit back and say “wow dumb trade” as if they knew SGA was going to be a great player down the road at that point in time.

Revisionist history all day.

Looking at the details of that trade specifically, it was obviously not good, but they had to get PG to get Kawhi has well, who was coming off his second finals MVP and you do whatever you can to get him.

So the trade kind of felt like Kawhi and PG for everything the Thunder got back which makes significantly more sense.

Not when you factor in the contracts they paid out

OKC is legitimately built to run the NBA for the next 15-20 years.

It was a good trade by the clippers

SGA is slightly below average and just makes alot of free throws
