Bet: If Donald Sterling is still the owner for the Clippers first game, I say Paul backs down from his threat to sit out because of Donald Sterling's ownership.

Week works for me.

Could Paul fake an injury in the first quarter of game one, or even a practice and then sit out from then on while collecting pay

Seems like they would have some wording to force him to play, but Derrick rose comes to mind

If Paul faked an injury and used that as his excuse to sit out, then he wouldn't exactly be taking a stand at all.

How would it not? Same thing, but he gets paid. Everyone would know why he's out

Because he's making no sacrifice. He gets paid to do nothing.

I say there's no chance in hell he sits out.
None, zip, zero.

But I also said the same about Lebron going to CLE up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Why does he have to sacrifice? Did he say he was doing it to make a sacrifice?

He is doing it because he doesn't want to play for sterling or make him money. Taking his cash while accomplishing the same thing doesn't hurt CP3, it does take money from DS3

bullshite, CP isn't sitting out... If anything, he will sit out a few preseason games, but when the season starts will make some bullshite excuse "I don't want to hurt my teammates or the city, so I will play" when in reality, its all about the $$$.

Sterling is a racist idiot, but Chris Paul is a fricking drama queen.

if they want to make a political statement that's their business. if they are willing to forgo their salaries then that should be more than enough for you or anyone else.

A political statement would've been Chris Paul not signing an extension with the clippers, and citing the owner being racist as the reason.

A political statement would have been doc rivers turning down the clippers job offer, and citing the owner being racist as the reason.

The 2 of them deciding that, after playing/working for the man for over a year all while knowing he's a racist, now is the time to take a stand and protest Donald sterling, when he literally no longer has an impact on either of their lives, is not a political statement. It's a statement of their stupidity.
