Notable available QB Options:
Cam Newton
Jameis Winston
Andy Dalton
Jarrett Stidham as starter (on roster already)
Joe Flacco
Taysom Hill (RFA cost a 1st rd pick)
Jacoby Brissett

I’d rather see what they have in Stidham and spend around him than any of those options. He was a first or second round type draft talent IMO who was poorly developed in college.

Pats are the only ones who know how much Stidham has developed in the last year though, easy for me to say this without knowing what he looks like

Brissett would probably be the outside option I would choose

They should tank the year and then go for Lawrence

Would be my pick. He already knows the offense and can step right in on day one.

you don't know Bill at all if you think those are options.

Feel like they are going on a semi rebuild here, gonna shed some vets and cap and see what Stidham can do unless the right guy falls in the draft

Will they go after a QB in this draft?

if you believe in stidham, you don't want him to fail before you think he's truly ready. A Brissett, Flacco, or Dalton could be nice short term bridges while he develops.

Taysom Hill

Love him but Saints could use some 1st rounders

a 1st round pick couldn't fill that gaping hole left behind.

The Patriots are about to draft some nobody QB in the last round again and turn him into Brady 2.0

A dark horse would be a trade for Derek Carr with the Raiders being lukewarm on him. I could see Bill loving his high comp %. Not sure how it would work with money considering the Pats are up against the cap.

Also, another crazy thought...Pats draft Jalen Hurts. His stock has risen after the combine.

He’ll have a year in the system learning from the best behind a great Oline

If he can’t look promising in that situation then I doubt he ever would.

I’m not saying they won’t bring in a Vet for competition, I just think the preferred thing would be to see what Stidham is

Stidham will never be a productive NFL QB. It will never, EVER, happen.

Neither one makes decisions quick enough to fit Belichick's scheme. The Patriots signing Winston would legitimately shock me.

Andy Dalton
Joe Flacco

Maybe Dalton. Can't see Flacco for the same reasons I can't see Newton/Winston.

Jarrett Stidham as starter (on roster already)

Most likely player on this list. Patriots really, really like him.

Taysom Hill (RFA cost a 1st rd pick)

Absolutely not.

Jacoby Brissett

If they could get him cheap? Maybe.

...but I'm telling you... don't rule out Blake Bortles.

Might as well make Mohamed Sanu QB1 if you think Taysom is in that conversation. Hell, at least Sanu has actually thrown a TD in the NFL.
