Not as steamy as your Taysom is a viable starting QB in the NFL take.

Well neither will any of these veteran options you’ve listed

Belichick has a history of taking chances on troubled or down and out players so it's probably the opposite of what you said

I want either Dalton or Flacco to go to the Pats and win a super bowl.

I hate the Pats but this would be glorious.

Likely not but we know for sure none of the other options listed will be. Stidham is a mystery box that could be bad but I’ll take that at this point over a known mediocre to bad NFL starter. More than likely they will need to find their next long term QB in the draft either way

Would LOVE to see a Jameis project in the NE culture. He clearly has the highest ceiling of any of those guys.

Shhhh. I want the Saints to trade for him in a year or two.

Everybody's puzzled at the nfl giving the patriots the compensatory picks. Again more than everyone else. Goodell's making sure old buddy Kraft has picks to trade up for one of the quarterbacks this year.(possibly)

Jameis with Lakis feels like a gamble I'd like to take.

name the last big FA signing the pats made and you’ll have your answer why they get a lot of compensation picks.

Ravens work the system the exact same way.

Bill doesn’t like black quarterbacks?

Who's puzzled? There's a formula. Part of it has to do with how many free agents your team signs vs. how many they lose. Another part has to do with how much money the players they lose get from another team. This year, they got two 3rd round picks for losing Trey Flowers and Trent Brown - two guys who got enormous contracts.

I'll help you out. Next year, they're probably going to get a 3rd for losing Brady, and two 4ths for losing Collins and Van Noy.

It's Stidham's job to lose.

"There have been a few throws," said safety Terrence Brooks, "that we see in practice where we're like, 'Damn, that was a nice one. He's getting better.' That's a good guy that's coming to work every day and proving he belongs here. I'm excited about him, man. Just to see some of the throws that he makes, it's pretty cool to see. Just to see his growth from where he started this summer, it's awesome, man."

"You see a guy who has really tight coverage on somebody, and he finds a place to put it where the DB can't get it," Brooks said. "Those are the type of throws that you classify as 'NFL throws.' Those are the ones that you just can't really do anything about as a defender. If it's in the right place where you just cannot get it where the receiver can, it's a little discouraging at times. But to see his growth, he's done very well, and you can tell he's getting better ...

"I feel like us as a defense is making him better, also. It's pretty cool to see. We like that guy. He's a good guy. Good locker room guy. Teammates love him. He's doing his thing, man."

"It's been good," receiver Phillip Dorsett said of having Stidham getting practice snaps. "It's been good. Jarrett's a guy that can make every throw. We all know that. He's learning. He's learning a lot more, just trying to take command of the offense when Tom's not there. He's doing well out there.

"You see [his talent] every day. When he's doing scout team, he has a cannon. He's got a rocket for an arm. I'd say that's his biggest strength."

"Jarrett is a smart kid," Belichick said at the time. "He picks things up very quickly. He has a good grasp of the offense given where he is in his career. He’s handled everything we’ve thrown at him. In practice, he does a good job. He gets a lot of passes on our defense and when he has the opportunity to get the offensive snaps, he’s prepared and does a good job of those."

“You see throws out there that he makes where you’re just like, ‘wow,’ ” said Patriots safety Duron Harmon. “You can tell he has the intangibles to be a good pro quarterback.”

“He’s made some great throws in practice where everybody takes notice,” added Patriots safety Terrence Brooks. “Like, ‘hey man, this dude is getting really good.’ ”

“You see improvement. Each week, he’s making even better throws,” said Brooks. “He seems even more comfortable back there. He’s opening up more. ... I see a guy who comes to work each and every day and takes advantage of his opportunities. It’s pretty cool to see.”

“There are other things he does and (it shows) he’s young, but it’s all apart of the learning process and the learning curve,” added Harmon. “He’s a guy who comes to work each and every day. He gives us the same attitude. He’s a great teammate. Looking forward to when he gets his chance to see what he can do.”

“He’s done good. He gives us a great look each and every week, throwing good balls,” said Stephon Gilmore. “That’s what it’s about — everybody making each other better. ... I feel like he’s gotten better.”

“There’s some pressure on them to go in there and execute and communicate in the huddle and do things right at the line of scrimmage and have a productive period,” said Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. “I really think (Stidham)’s got a great attitude. He’s improved during the course of the year and he’s ready to go each week.”

“He can make every throw,” added receiver Phillip Dorsett. “He throws a pretty catchable pass. He has good arm strength. He’s a good quarterback. I like the way he throws the ball. He spins it.”

“Great kid. Has worked hard. Definitely improved,” NFL Network reported, quoting its source. “Definitely made progress. Really never know how it will go until he has to play."
