Then post game saw a 3 star general and a few one stars on the field. Would have been a really bad idea to mess with those guys.

Maybe from an optics standpoint, I doubt a 50 year old Lt. Gen is gonna do much damage to any of these players, they might be able to defend themselves.

We call it sport in hockey. We call it temper tantrums in the sport of....towel stealing.

Schools can't police players if the players can just transfer AND collect a bag after the season.

It's 2024, "bro," try to keep up.

But, by all means, if you want to masturbate about the fake lethality of 50 and 60-year-old Army officers, then go right ahead. Enjoy, bro.

Everyone complains that the NBA is too buddy buddy and long for the old heated rivalries and in college football rivalries there is exactly what you miss about basketball and yet still complaints. This board is schizo.

They would call Deacon Jones all manner of names if he played today. Conrad Dobler, not so much if you know what I mean.

I don't know if it's a recent phenomenon. I remember seeing Dwayne Bowe goof around after LSU beat Miami in the 2005 Peach Bowl and a similar ruckus erupted.

There are always one-offs out there. Not all chippiness is bad, but there are recent events that have crossed the line.

This is the natural evolution of a “no tolerance” policy.
There was no need for schools to come down on kids for this in the past because they policed it themselves. And then they just threw a 15 yard penalty flag and moved on. Now you have to “protect” players and everyone runs around feeling entitled instead of with their head on a swivel knowing that if they start something someone else might finish it.

It is the same reason you have kids who get to 22 years old acting like complete assholes running around like they are somebody who can’t cope with reality. What should have happened was they should have got their arse kicked back in the third grade and they would have learned some humility.

“No tolerance” policies have the exact opposite effect of what you are trying to do. Let a peer handle them over smaller things and people learn they aren’t bulletproof before the stakes are so much higher.

It’s what happens when lawyers run shite.

You equating stealing a towel causing a brawl that left a ref bloodied to Steve Durbano is the problem here.

In Hockey two people fight it out and that regulates the sport. It's not some full on brawl where hockey players are swinging their hockey sticks at each other.

I am guessing you also think Carlos Gomez is right for this and Freddie Freeman and Brian McCann are just soft.
