Players come and go from teams every year. For example, Charlie Morton was with the Astros for their World Series and then pitched against them this year, while in Tampa. You would presume players would have loose lips once leaving an organization, like the Astros, if cheating was so rampant within the organization. Why is it, if this is the case, that players don’t rat each other out? My guess is that every team does it to some degree.

Also, what’s the difference from watching the centerfield broadcast view of the catcher giving signs and video recording it? Albeit, I’m sure you can get a closer up view with your own equipment but the signs are relatively easy to see through the broadcast. I’m not sure how they do their broadcasting but if there is a 5-10 second delay in the program, that would be the one way you wouldn’t be able to use it to your benefit.

I’m not 100% sure of how it was exposed but if that’s how it happened, I’m sure it was happening longer before it got exposed and that players had come and gone before without saying a word.

Considering that players come and go on every MLB team, it seems like it’s a crazy risk to take to cheat and that no one will ever rat you out.

Cheating is pervasive. No one cares for the most part. It’s just accepted.

The problem is when the wrong team does it. The Astros weren’t supposed to beat the Yankees so this is their punishment.

Because everyone is cheating in different ways and no one wants it all to come crashing down.

It's why what Mendoza said yesterday was correct. Players dont want all of this to come to light.

Yes. Manfred is in on it too! It’s a conspiracy against Houston!

Apparently I’m the only person that saw the irony of Alex Rodriguez carrying the torch and pitchfork during the ALCS about the Astros stealing signs.

Alex Rodriguez.

Mike Fiers is going to be a lonely SOB. Especially in a clubhouse. Who would trust this guy to keep his mouth shut? Trevor Bauer? HAHA

I think what Blackjack is doing is noble.

He sees the ridiculousness of what is happening.

Had a great conversation with him back in the late 90’s at the Hard Rock in Vegas, involving baseball and gambling.

Not surprised he would speak up like this.
