No.

The way I'd describe it, most would prefer politics be left out of sports, entertainment, non-political media, and even our corporate communications.

But of course, it's obviously ubiquitous and overwhelmingly leftist these days. Oftentimes, the narratives leave facts and logic behind, and the media and those in power attempt to pit us peasants against each other, especially by race.

Any time there is a point made against this groupthink and divisive propaganda, whether it originates from a conservative, or a politically neutral person like Sir Charles, it is novel. It is also refreshing to those who are constantly demonized and forced to hear the ceaseless opinions of people spreading leftist views that they disagree with, in arenas that do not warrant politicization.

You may not care about the propaganda because you are sympathetic to the views expressed. And you are able to cherrypick "hypocrisy" from people who, if given a choice, would prefer to have zero political and "social justice" issues discussed in their sports. But that is the context I'd give around the response by many on here. I hope this helps.

This is a remarkably long-winded way of saying “my good politics are fine in sports because they’re responding to their bad politics.”

Of course. You guys fight amongst yourself about race and gender pronouns while it becomes harder and more expensive than ever to raise a family, states cut funding to schools thus making parents/students pay the difference, and health insurance cost continues to rise.

I don’t remember any politics on ESPN in the early 90s. It was just Sportscenter (highlights) and live games. The in-game commentary was about the game, strategy, etc

I'm 59 years old. I don't recall that time. I've seen old reels of Jesse Owens with discussions of the geo political implications of his victories at the 1936 Olympics in Munich Olympics.

I will leave you with this image from the 1968 Olympics

Joe Louis vs Schmeling was one of the most politically charged sporting events of the century. The posters who think sports were always pure & non political must have missed the US/ Soviet Olympic boycotts of 1980/84 as well.

Comparing a handful of examples the last hundred years to the non stop one sided propaganda we’re seeing now is about as dishonest as it gets. Quit lying to yourself and others.

While that may be so it wasn't on weekly display . It was more or less special events, or Olympics. It wasn't on your mid July MLB game, or your October NFL game.

I don't think these are comparable to what we see today. It's not even in the same category.

bullshite. Muhammad Ali was sent to prison for not wanting to fight in a war. If that happened today, there would be a twitter meltdown.

Jackie Robinson wasn't political? You bet your arse it was. If Jackie and Muhammad happened today, you toads would be chastising them for being uppity n-----s, and don't think your monkey arse can fool me.

What about John Carlos and Tommie Smith in the Mexico City Olympics? You whites had a burr up your arse about Kaepernick taking a knee. He wasn't rioting, just taking a knee. It's never peaceful enough of a protest for you spoiled whites. The only thing that makes a difference is violence.
